Is Fen'harel really the Maker?  We know that the maker imprisoned "the Old Gods", aka, (possibly) the arch-deamons.  We know that Fen'harel locked away both the Elven Gods and "the Forgotten Ones" in heaven and the abyss respectively.  While the list of the Old Gods suggests that they ahve nothing in common with the Elven Gods, the Forgotten Ones sounds distinctly like they could be the same as the Old Gods with their generally negative attributes.  Again the names bare little resemblance, but my anchient Elven is a bit rusty, as is my understanding of the etimology of Thedas is a little sketchy at best.  Who knows, maybe they mean similar things in the different languages.

Maybe I'm jsut grasping at a detail and, like many religions, they draw upon similar mythologies, but it's quite a thought.  The Maker was a mad trickster who did not create, only inherit through trickery?  And through trickery and lies tries to fill the power vacuum?  Ok I'll stop specuulating now.
