Haha, I kind of figured that LoyFang was not from the US so I just suggested the easiest way to find an apple pie, even though it is a deep-fried apple turnover in this case.

I take it you have never tried the deep-fried apple pie from McDonald's. It is even better the real thing.

Everytime I travel to Asia, like China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Japan, I always stop at the local McDonald's and grab an apple pie.

 Oh. I've had em', not horrendous.  Prob one of the few things I would eat from that hole.

Meh. The only time a pie should have apple in it is as an accompaniment to pork.

I have to admit I occasionally like sweet pies, but they do come a distant second to the savoury type.

I really like meat pies though they are hard to come by in Canada as opposed to when I visited Australia and they seemed to always have nice meat pies in the local bake shop of each small town.

Shepherd's pie is pretty good, but tourtiere is much better. Doesn't have all those nasty vegetables in it.

Pumpkin Pie is my favorite. I like eating it with a bit of whipped cream. But I also like apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Pumpkin Pie is my favorite. I like eating it with a bit of whipped cream. But I also like apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I completely expected pumpkin pie to suck, but I actually enjoyed it when I finally tried it. It's a bit like cheesecake... only less cheesy.

I still prefer savoury pies like pork, steak & ale etc, or the exotic ones like Moroccanesque lamb and apricot. But I'm on a diet, so no pies for me. Sodding diet, bastard that it is. DX
