One reason for its *possible* removal may have been that a tank was no longer needed. Since we now have nukes, fighting Collosi and storming fortresses on foot might be a feasible task.
Heavy Weapons might have made the Hammerhead obsolete.

Indeed, I don't think they ask us to walk through the UNC's. If there are any. Here's hoping for Hammerhead!
