Personally? I'm completely fine with things being the way they are right now.

Of course, nobody can question one's opinion, but some do question one's sense of  good taste.

Holy ****, there are way too many psychotics on here who like to project their amorality on to the general populace.

PS. If you're willing to press any murder buttons, go on violent revenge sprees, don't do terrible things to people ONLY because of personal consequences, or you'd collect ransom or blood money--seek professional therapy, please.

Humans hide behind a facade, and trivialize some of the most horrific things. It is when you stand in the middle of it all that you realize humans are no better than rabid animals.

And what horrible thing did humanity do to you?

Not me. However, I've been in the middle of it all. From torture, rape, murder, bullying of handicaps, betrayal, thievery, cheating, etc.

I've noticed how quick people are to take advantage of a situation that benfits them. Even if it will hurt friends, loved ones in the future. Disrespect, no loyalty, self delusion, pride, ego.

I'm not even a good person, but many people have been impressed with the little compassion I do have. Just shows how most people are simply talk with little action.

Don't be so naive. Most people's self proclaimed morals are never tested.

1 trillions dollars if you push that button. Most people will push it.

I'm not sure...

I, personally, doubt that I would. For one thing, any deal like that sounds like a trap to begin with. However, I also don't know enough about the wise use of money to be able to save anyone else with it, so the moral cost would almost certainly be too high no matter what I did. Better to just not risk it either way.

In this scenario, it's not a trap. It's a simple proposition.

Oh, I'm sure propositions similar to this have been made in real life. I doubt it's common, though.

Either way... no. I can't miss what I've never had, after all.

Do I get more money for pressing the button multiple times?

You believe that Paragon options should cause more damage? Which in particular?

2 years ago I asked a similar as this on a different forum. However, the question was more personal. Near the end of the thread (long one) many of the posters got angry at me, because they answered YES. It wasn't until the week had passed that they realized the implications of answering YES.

I fail to see how that can be concluded out of my post.

So I could get one trillion dollars, and with no negative economic impacts from the generation or transfer of said money, by simply pressing a button that kills a few people?

1 trillion dollars eh? Does it come with or without a golden unicorn that farts daimonds? Or maybe a magical leprichan who will dance and sing songs of the old country?

Than there's another question of what will that money be used for? Like say a person uses it to fund aids and cancer research to try and cure those disease, or uses it to fund humanitarian efforts? If the money saves more lives than one, is there a balance that takes place?

Of course that is the real difference between, rational, Renegade and Paragon. Is the greater good better than the goody good?

Then what is it that you believe about the story that you think I have bad taste on?

As a general rule, Paragon is for the greater good, or perhaps the greatest possible good.

Is there some better alternate form of behavior you think humanity should emulate realistically? And what are your views on nature and the animal world?

Just curious.

Then allow me to clarify: I think the Paragon/Renegade division overall is sufficiently well-handled.

If only I knew how to properly distribute such a vast sum of money.

I don't, it's a flawed system. I don't even so much care about the choices themself, more about the context and that's were it falls apart.

What about the context is so bad?

Lack of consistency, poor definitons, superficial differences, etc.
