Plot armor is when writers prevent important characters in the plot from dying in situations where death is almost certain. ME2 is really the only game where no one on the squad had plot armor. Joker does not have plot armor because it is very possible to survive what he did.
Miranda did.

Because we have never met other characters surviving ambushes or live threatning/high risk situations in the Mass Effect series?
Like Ashley, Tali (she's done it twice now!), Jack.

I felt she suited the role of being a Prothean specialist and would have hot footed it back to Ilos, a virtually undisturbed Prothean site.

Liara's obvious armor DOES NOT detract from her charcater.

At those points, weren't they important to the plot. And when we get there, most of those people still had a team. They just die in the process. And where does Jack do this. She isn't alone.Lizardviking wrote...

It might shock you to learn that most content in stories is not put in for the sole purpose of building up to something else. That content doesn't need any justification aside from being good.alleyd wrote...

Liara was made Shadow Broker because it was a satisfying and meaningful plot point.

You're wrong. That's not plot armor at all.
Plot armor is a character surviving certain-death situations in a contrived fashion by nothing more than 'luck' in story.
Plot armor is not 'Any character who can't be killed in a game where some characters can be killed.'

She had SB stuff to do in previous versions of the script, but then Bioware realised that Traynor was completely irrelevant beyond being a F/F LI and decided to give her all of Liara's SB stuff.

No. Liara was made SB becauset hey had no idea what to do with her because of poor planing so they made her SB, however when they made the protheans important again it became clear that making her SB was uselss because protheans being important made her have a role again by default. Classic case of poor planing if I ever saw one.David7204 wrote...
