The Normandy contributes a lot to the war effort.
EDI is the Normandy.
Ergo, EDI contributes a lot to the war effort. She's very important, as the above says.
Most characters have incompetence when Shepard can come save the day. That's as unique to EDI as her being able to speak.
I find it strange that in the trilogy, we aren't allowed to...

Something else that's worth mentioning in this thread, given its title, is the Levieathan DLC. Its interesting and pretty fun and all that. But one thing that really bothers me about it is Commander Shepard's attitude and characterization through out it. At no point does any squadmate or Shepard seem to wonder or question if they are doing the right thing. Trying to drag the Leviathan kicking and screaming into thier conflict with the Reapers.
There all like "Can we trust Leviathan and do we want its help?" As if Leviathan is the bad guy or something. All its doing is what's required to protect itself and the security of its location. Commander Shepard is one of my all time favorite protagonist. But when i look at things from Leviatan's perspective. I might have killed the savior of the galaxy.
Because to me the question the Leviathan DLC poses is this: At what point does one's quest to make allies start to make you enemies instead?
