Jeesh, reading this thread, now I know why I don't consider myself being a "true ME fan". This character adoration and virtual waifu fetish gives me the creeps... rather abnormal. I stick with the good old fashioned real life women.

This isn't the first time you've made such a complaint. Stop looking for excuses to brag about how well you function in society.

I'm just disgusted about this whole phenomenon concerning the fetish like love for some of the characters of a video game (which I happen to like, but woudn't replace it with my life). As for the second thought: functioning in society is possible for everybody, no matter how you look, what you think or what you do. You just have to go out there and meet with the people whom you can care for, love, whatever, but first you have to get up from behind the computer or tv screen. Social life is not for some priviliged people, but for everybody. Oh, and you can stop being constantyl butthurt about my posts. You don't like me (as far as my post on these forums concerned), I get it. And franky I don't mind at all.

In real life, I'm kind of a big deal. I have many leatherbound books and my house smells of rich mahogany.

It's always funny when somebody takes everything said on the internet serious. You know, because we all want to bang a giant turtle with blood rage.

I have a surfboard and live on a beach. I cannot currently surf however. Said beach is on Lake Michigan, and the waves really suck.

You're so "special" and "different" from those other games right?

I bet you tell all your friends about how you only play 2 hours a week.

Wish I had time to play. But I have lots of work to do. I like playing video games, I love sci-fi, though I would not consider myself a big gamer, since I don't play too many games and I don't have too much time for them. Most of my friends don't play any kind of computer games at all, since they don't like them, but I have a few friends, even colleagues who do. I never show off about not playing. Everybody knows that's it's one of my hobbies and that I adore epic stories. I only say that this whole character-fetish that is demonstrated here in the BSN is quite...well... interesting. It may come off as being condescending. Maybe it is, but I truly find this thing idiotic.

Character adoration is alright, if you take it for it's original french meaning. Glorification can be psychologically unproblematic. There are fictional characters I like better than some people.

It's the stuff with nudity and sexualization that creeps me out -- yet in the same way some dudes overdo it with actresses, ex-girls or even "classic" pornography. My point being, there are enough people into "real" women who are equally deranged.

I used to be a big deal around Dallas. Go to any church and they want me to preach. Didn't care much for preaching, so I gave up on life and tried to move in to my mother's basement even though I don't need to. I just wanted to fit in. But my ass was too big to get through the basement door :(

Franky, who's Franky? I actually have a social life, I just go on BSN when I'm bored, on vacation(like now) or have nothing better to do. It's fun to have over-the-top waifu fights and post tongue-in-cheek threads like this. What's so wrong about that?

It's not like I'm a Tali fetishist or anything:innocent:

This is the only video game forums I'm registered to. From time to time I check it just for the sake of it. To me it was a hub of news for ME3 and the DLCs. So I guess, old habits die hard. I don't take it seriously. I only reacted to the things I see here. Call it opposing opinion and since there is a freedom of speech (sort of) I just dared to express my - maybe not so humble - opinion about it. That's how it goes.

There can be some videogame (or fictional otherwise) characters you an respect genuinely, they may teach you impotant things about real lifde in a way real people can't. But I kinda agree with you, fetishizing over them and thinking over them day and night is kinda going too far not saying this towards anyone in this thread. Just a general observation.

Necantor, isn't it a bit exaggerating to say that you can "clearly" see Talai's face though her helmet? Yes you can vaguely make out her facial features and her weirdass glowing eyes. But clearly? I dunno.. Unless you have xray eyes i guess.

I use the internet less than anyone here, and it has nothing to do with having a "life" or whatever. I just do what makes me happy. Travel the trains and bus, go to the zoo, museums, etc. Meet people, talk to them about life, blah, blah. Go to old neighborhoods, walk to different cities.

Life isn't about smiling like an idiot and doing what others think is "having a life". Bunch of cardboard copies. Do what makes you happy.

Yeah, especially in the Citadel dlc in ME3. Let her run through a hologram in the archives, you can see her face clearly, except for the mouth and hair.
