Unless we`re talking about a weapon with ramp-up time (like PPR or Typhoon), where getting staggered = needing to ramp-up again (thus losing lots of DPS).SiMpLyNoir wrote...
And stagger immunity is great but manuverability is better than being a turret.
So What is the Destroyer Best For?

You don't have to run to the spawns to attack them if you have a 25% accuracy bonus. I only feel the speed is a big deal when backing down from jumping Banshees. I don't feel the need to outrun everybody to the spawns... I will get there when I get there.lightswitch wrote...

Always astounds me how little people appreciate how ridiculous his stagger immunity and always-up bonuses are.
Yup.
Devastator Mode + Geth Scanner owns Hunter Mode except in the speed department.
I still think he is the best PPR user... Only the Ghost and GI can compete.
Only with full auto weapons. And the speed is kind of a big deal tbh

You will stunlock at most 3 of them (if you're lucky and none of them dodges) while the 4th one kills you because you're not fast enough to retreat back into cover.rlucht wrote...

Yeah turning a corner and finding 2 hunters and 2 marauders is a fairly regular occurrence on plat. You can't out DPS all four regardless of what gun you have so you can...
A) MF Grenade spam them or...Stunlock them with your shoulder while you proceed to shoot them down.
Either option is viable, HML doesn't suck, you disliking it doesn't change that.

Okay, i'll try to restore my post here. (Which was deleted and resulted in ban, lol)
ML is not bad, i agree. But it seems like a case of different perspectives, caused by differences in manifest. I don't speak for you, but in my case, when you have both Typhoon X and AP IV you don't really need anything else. And if you take Piranha as backup, you already won the game.
Additionally, those 500 shields allow me to be more rambo, which suits my playstyle more than relying on something not really reliable.
I don't think that skipping MFG (which is godlike CQC backup) or trading Fitness for -500 shields could help in my case.
Really, i've seen some guy on Yutuub do stuff with HML, but whenever i try it i feel like "WTF am i supposed to do with that"
Just FYI you only loose 100 shields if you pick the "reduced penalty" evo at rank 4 (and you always should if using HML).
I think more than a difference in manifest, it is probably a difference in weapon preference. I like the PPR a lot more than the Typhoon. Stopping your ramped up fire on the PPR to throw MFGs is a much greater loss to your DPS with a PPR than it is with a Typhoon. Hence, I love the stagger tool that can stagger things while I keep the PPR beam going.
Edit: also I certainly don't advocate skipping fitness on him, IMO you should max two of his powers and both passives. All 3 are good enough that it doesn't really matter which 2.

That's good point also. Stopping Typhoon kicks, but not remotely as hard as PPR.rlucht wrote...

+ More and more i find myself running around (lol, running) with Piranha, and this is where i really need my MFG.
P.S. Yeah, 100 shields. Been time since i've last looked at HML tree, heh.

@elite level players giving me the business!
I am bad at soloing with destroyer! Happy now...
I just felt that his slow speed and lack of dodge in destructor mode makes him a bit of liability for soloing plat IN MY OPINION. There are lots of better options for soloing that are either faster or can tank better then him. Again, this is my opinion and doesn't represent what the best players think. Of course, shield boost, stim packs and repair matrix are nice perks for soloing. XD

TSol has better burst DPS because of RoF Boost.lightswitch wrote...
Just ran some in-game tests comparing kill times between Destroyer-Phoon and TSol-Phoon against Atlases. There's some variance depending on how consistently you hit the triple hit point, but generally the TSol seems to be two or three seconds faster.
Difference is at long-term combats.

So that new players would have to grind through bronze with bare teeth? That`s just stupid. Also, L2p.Falcon, Striker, Adas...and we can also add Shuriken, Katana, Incisor, Avenger, Hornet...no one will cry over those stupid weapons.

well earlier Annomander was claiming the Destroyer has the second best TTKs in the game (after the GI). I'm not seeing it.

That's because it doesn't go away when MM goes into cooldown. It goes away only if you stop firing while MM is on cooldown.

ehh good luck with that. Pretty much only possible on weapons with huge clips (anything other than the Typhoon?).
FWIW Typhoon is a bit overrated - TTKs aren't great against mooks because of the spin up, and all the bounce makes consistent headshots hard. Hurricane and Talon are better balanced in that regard. Phoon is excellent against boss size targets though.

(1) With anything lighter than the Typhoon (Hurricane? Talon? Pirahna?) Marksman's cooldown is practically nonexistent anyway.lightswitch wrote...

(2) Typhoon is great against mooks. Just don't stop firing and quickly switch from one head to the next. It's way easier than the Javelin.
(3) I find the Typhoon's recoil negligible even in its original version. But again, I never had any problem with the Hurricane's recoil either - never understood the use for Stability mods or consumables.
