I've been wanting to know from other people who've played this game, what was their idea of a PERFECt ending with their choices.

So I'm asking what choice, throughout multiple playthroughs, did you make for "the perfect" ending.
I want you to write down the key decisions and reasons to why.

exmpl:

Redcliff: Spared Isolde and saved Connor;
if there's a way to save a life I'll always try to do it, even if the alternative seems easier

Mage Circle: Side with Templars;
sometimes, things are not what they seem to be, and as far a mages go,
I'd prefer the Templars make sure none of the abominations survived, I
still got Erving to help save Connor tho

Orzimmar: Make Bhalen king;
now if it was a black and white case, I'd immideatly side with Harrowmont, because we can all see how blatantly Bhalen cheats, but than we have to awknowlage the true problem of Orzimmar, the caste system, or more specifically the castless, who have no future and are forced to become criminals and with Harrowmont being a traditionalist, would mean the suffering of the less fortuned would continue, while on the other hand, Bhalen it prepared to make drastic changes, like opening trade with surfuce world, and allowing the castless to fight in an army, etc., and while he becomes a dictator by the end, sometimes even a dictator is a better leader if it makes a future more prosperus

Anvil of the Void: Destroyed;
strictly in case of making Bhalen king, because of him ending up being a dictator; best not to give him anymore power if it means ordenary people will suffer for it

Nature of the Beast: Have Zathrian lift the Curse;
it's really not healthy for a person to hold a grudge for hundreds of years (to put it lightly), people who were sufferong from the curse now were innocent, even if they're descendats of the humans responsible; Children should NOT be hold accounted for the crimes of their fathers.

Urn of Andraste: Opened to pilgrims;
only doing what the Guardian said it was ment to be, not to mention Tevinter worshiped dragons and look what's happend

Landsmeet: Spared Loghain, Having hardened Alistair become King;
this one's bit of both, with the mentality "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" as well as justice be done, Loghain is stripped of power and rather than execute him, better have him "suffer" for his crimes; since it's unavoidble to spare Loghain without making Alistair king or making him leave Grey Wardens, I took the route of making him a king, since with
the right guidence, he would become a good leader.

Dark Ritual: Accepted;
I shudder to think what repercussions it'll have with a demigod child on earth, but I just don't want to have anyone dying, even Loghain.

What about the rest of you?

Share your thoughts, please.

Perfect ending, not sure I have one, I've done so many permutations of the game just to see what content there was (and still have been unable to do a few things), but on my 'canon' Warden, (female Surana) that I am playing now, and will be my import to DA2 and beyond (if my PC holds up to that and imports are used in the future games), it will play out something like this:

Redcliffe: Isolde and Connor both saved, Demon destroyed, Redcliffe saved from the Undead. My Surana is a bit of a goody-two-shoes who hates the idea of any child suffering, and to lose his mother (and potentially his father) would be a terrible blow for Connor who is about to be sent off to the Tower anyway, compounding one loss on top of so many others.

Orzammar: Harrowmont king.
Without metagaming, as my warden lacks precognitive powers, and has little information to go on, pretty much she sided with the one who didn't seem skuzzy and let's face it, Bhelen is a terrible person. I much prefer the Harrowmont loyalty quest (provings) to the dungeon crawl Bhelen's second sends you on. So it's mostly for a 'fun' aspect of the game more than any "I prefer this choice over the other". If I had my druthers, I'd leave the steward of the assembly in charge. He's the only one in Orzammar who isn't running around with his head up his ass.

Anvil: Destroyed. I abhore slavery in any fashion and both Harrowmont AND Bhelen will abuse it's power given half a chance. They won't be able to help themselves.

Mage Circle: Circle saved, mages spared. The Rite of Annulment would wipe out the innocent with the guilty and again my preferred warden is a mage, so she has a stake in seeing everyone spared. Irving can't help with Connor if you go templars route (unless you have a mod, a bug glitches the game or they changed the situation since I played last).

Nature of the Beast: I always have Zathrien lift the curse. It makes no sense to me to kill the Dalish (again causing the deaths of innocent children), or to leave the werewolves as they are and kill Witherfang just to help the Dalish.

Urn of Andraste: Don't take Brother Genetivi to the ashes, and they never get discovered outside of my Warden's party. The dragon often as not is left alive as well, she's just a mother protecting her kids.

Landsmeet: Loghain dies, every time. His crimes include treachery and slavery and I can forgive a lot, but that is a deal breaker for me. Alistair is made king on my Surana, Queen Cousland runs. Anora stays on the throne if I am a male Cousland (king or not) and on my Dalish. My city elf married them both and they ruled together. I don't care for dwarves, and thus my dwarven Wardens never got that far.

Dark Ritual: Accepted. Morrigan is always my warden's bestie, and while I don't think she's being wholly honest, I do think one motivation for her is that her friend doesn't die. I've done the other endings just to see them, but I prefer a 'happy' ending to bittersweet.

This is not a definitive list as I have done all things in the game just to see them except defiling the ashes (that's anathema to me personally) and killing Alistair **See my viewpoints on treachery above**.

Redcliffe: Save Isolde and Connor and kill the demon. Best case senario where everyone's happy yay! :D

Orzammar: Bhelen is king. Harrowmont may be nicer but he's stuck in tradition while Bhelen has ambitious plans for the casteless and Orzammar, something I believe my city elf would sympathize with when she's overhearing conversations in Dust Town. I also suspect that Harrowmont may be a worse person than he lets on if you side against him, mostly from the hired Harrowmont mercenaries sent after you. (though someone else could have done it, I don't believe for a minute that he would be a perfect little angel above this sort of thing) Also if you side with Bhelen you get an extra quest in DAII. :D

Mage Circle: Saved the mages. It's wrong to wipe them out because there might be loose ends, when their only crime was living there.

Anvil of the Void: Destroyed. It makes me cringe to think of molten metal forcibly poured on me. >.<

Nature of the Beast: Cured werewolves, everyone's happy. :D Except Zathrian.

Urn of Sacred Ashes: Don't defile them, and when Brother Genitivi wants to reveal the ashes I scold him since it's a stupid idea, but I just let him go because I don't really care that much. I also kill the dragon simply because I like to fight dragons. :3

Landsmeet: Hardened Alistair marrys Anora, that seems like the best comprimise and would prevent rebellions. I don't really care if Loghain lives or dies, I only kill him in my main playthrough because I don't want him to be the OGB's dad.

Dark Ritual: Nobody dies and Alistair and Morrigan have a baby, yay! ^.^ I don't think it would be that bad, I doubt she's going to use the OGB to destroy the world or whatever.

Depends on the Origin. A perfect ending for one Warden might not be a perfect ending for another. Certainly, there is no perfect ending for any of my City Elf Wardens because they always *live* to help their people. Yet, there is no option to permanently, significantly improve conditions for city elves. At best, things improve for a little while for a couple of years, before they fall apart and the Warden disappears.

I imagine the closest thing to a perfect ending for a (female?) city elf would be...

-Save Redcliffe. Common people need to be saved too, not just nobles. (****ing Isolde.)

-Spare Isolde and Connor. Though I think Isolde deserves to die after the way she dismisses her subject's plight (that she caused): A) For an Elf Warden, killing her seems like it would just confirm suspicions that elves given power would use it to kill nobles who didn't directly harm them. B) Sparing her prevents her from redeeming herself in death. C) It seems much more cruel to make her live with the consequences of her actions, hated and reviled and mistrusted by all the people whose lives she destroyed, and forced to watch her kid get sent to the Circle anyway, after everything she did to try to hide him.

- Save the Mage Circle. No city elf who has endured several purges in the last ten years would be okay with annulling innocent mages.

- Have Zathrian lift the Curse. Don't punish the clan or the pack for Zathrien's folly. (Though my female city elf can sympathize since her groom was killed and her cousin raped by humans the same way Zathrian's son was killed and his daughter raped by humans. She can approach it from the perspective of: "Look, I understand, I've been there, but you have to move on.")

- Leave the Urn, but spare the High Dragon since they're endangered. Plus, calling the dragon down just to kill her when she's minding her own business seems cruel. =/ (Kill the crazy cultists though, to keep them from hurting anyone else.)

-Destroy the Anvil. No second-class citizen can allow a tool to be used against a society's undesirables; "criminals and casteless."

-Crowned Bhelen: If you don't know the reason by now, I can't explain it to you.

-Romance Zevran (or Leliana) so she won't have to be heartbroken about what comes next.

-Landsmeet: Execute Loghain after exposing him as a slaver and traitor (hopefully setting an example in the process), and crown a Hardened Alistair, with or without Anora. He seems to be the one to sympathize with the lower classes, and actually does more than the bare minimum to help them, and is a stronger king hardened, so yeah.

-Have Alistair perform the ritual with Morrigan, so everyone can survive the slaying of the Archdemon.

-Become Bann of the Denerim Alienage to do the most good for other elves. Live happily with Zevran until he has to start confronting Crows in Antiva, and s/he has to start investigating intelligent darkspawn and Morrigan's whereabouts, until the Warden disappears.

Best I got.

My canon warden is a human noble male Cousland warrior.

Redcliffe:

Save the village - as a Cousland, my Warden understands his responsibility to help all the people of Ferelden, not just the priviledged few.

Sacrifice Isolde to enter the fade and destroy the demon. Playing without metagame knowledge, my Warden doesn't know if he can get to the circle and back in time without the possessed Connor potentially killing Arl Eamon and Bann Teagan, which would severely hamper Redcliffe's ability to aid the fight against the blight. It is Isolde's fault in the first place - if she had sent Connor to the circle, or not lied to and tricked my Warden, we wouldn't be in this situation in the first place.

Mage's Circle:

Save the circle. The actions of a single mage who lost control do not justify the murders of every mage in the tower. In addition the mages are a far more potent tool to fight the blight than the templars are, so saving them is a priority.

Nature of the Beast:

Convince Zathrian to remove the curse. The entire pack of werewolves do not deserve to be punished for the actions of a small group of humans. In addition convincing the werewolves to wipe out an entire Dalish clan would simply be wrong.

Urn of Sacred Ashes:

Kill the high dragon. Defile the ashes and kill Genitivi. The Andrastian Chantry has a very negative effect on Ferelden and Thedas as a whole - the misinformed tale it spreads about the Black City and the Maker are the cause of many of the prejudices facing mages. In addition to the genocidal exalted march it called against the Elves of the Dales. Leaving the ashes in place to strengthen the Andrastian faith would be a terrible mistake, and more is at stake than a single life - if Genitivi cannot be swayed, he leaves only one option.

Orzammar and the Deep Roads:

Crown Bhelen. He is a young, ambitious prince who wants to change the ancient caste system and has the drive to reverse the fortunes of the dwarven race. In addition to being the rightful heir. Harrowmont represents the old traditional way of doing things - which is clearly not working for the Dwarven people.

Preserve the Anvil of the Void. It is simply too powerful a tool to waste. Although Branka later seizes control over it, the Warden doesn't know this at the time - at the time, he only knows that the Golems would be a very potent ally to fight against the Archdemon, and that they represent one of the only hopes of the Dwarven empire ever regaining its lost thaigs. They will also help the dwarves in their constant struggle against the darkspawn. The results from the anvil are worth the price required.

Landsmeet:

Loghain is a war hero and a potentially very powerful ally. However my Warden values Alistair's friendship over this, so reluctantly allows Alistair to execute Loghain. Have a hardened Alistair rule together with Anora - Alistair is the rightful king, and Anora will make a perfect queen.

The Final Battle:

Perform the dark ritual myself, having romanced Morrigan.

Epilogue:

Become teyrn of Gwaren, and choose to go searching for Morrigan. I'll leave Awakening decisions out for now, but in the end, go through the Eluvian with Morrigan.

Just a lil OT side note:
Even if you decide to support templars, you can do it after sparing the surviving mages (not listening to Cullen and killing all on spot), so you can still have Erving perform the ritual to save Conor.

Then you encountered a bug/glitch that allowed you to cheat.  That's not supposed to be an option.  Siding with the templars means the Circle gets Annuled, hence why you shouldn't have mages as a choice at the end or for when you need Connor released from the Demon.  Just because you don't witness it first hand doesn't mean it doesn't happen.  At the very least, confirming his fears that the mages may be possessed should keep Gregoir from saying "Sure, take a dozen mages to help you in a town already plagued by a demon, I'm sure everything will be hunky dory".

The first time I played I made that choice by accident and sided with the Templars.  Later when i tried to get their help with Connor, the mages weren't available to use to save Connor.

My canon character is the following:
-Male/Dwarf Commoner/Warrior

* Kill Connor: it is the safest and fastest way to get things over with, as i cannot trust Jowan. In addition the arlessa is more useful in case that Eamon dies, she has more political pull along with Teagan, as Connor is not useful for gathering nobles in the landsmeet. I should also say that by killing Connor, her mother suffers more, and i think she deserves that rather than just a quick death.

* Save Circle Mages: The mages are way more useful than the templars agaisnt the darkspawn, they bring something unique that no one else can do. There is no point in depriving yoursel of such a weapon, as the surviving mages appear fine and not posessed, so they can be relied at least to fight the blight. I don´t care if later on there are more blood mages hidden, the priority is to get them to fight the darkspawn.

* Side with Elves - Lift Curse: As a casteless, the situation of the werewolves is very similar, so it is easier to sympathise with them. They are descendants from criminals (some rapists), but they themselves are innocents, same thing with the casteless. My warden wants the support of the elves (because that is the treaty he has, and may want the wardens to remain friendly with the dalish for future cooperation), so killing them is out of the question. However after discovering that Zathrian wanted to get the warden killed, the warden stands up to him and forces him to lift the curse and help everyone who got cursed.

* King Bhelen - Preserve Anvil: Crowning Bhelen is an easy decision for the casteless dwarf, the Anvil is preserved because after witnessing just how desperate the situation is on the deep roads, the dwarf warden is committed to do anything it takes to defeat the darkspawn. Even putting other casteless through the anvil, because my warden knows his inmediate family (sister and mother) will be safe. He understands that sacrifices are necessary and does not want to destroy such a precious weapon agaisnt the darkspawn. The most likely "volunteers" will anyway be dissidents to Bhelen´s rule, and the casteless support him, so it is more likely that he accuse some noble of treason, confiscate his properties, and then make him a golem, so the crown gets some riches and a golem. Still as i said, my warden does not mind if casteless are used, it is for the greater good, but he knows with Bhelen it will be mostly his enemies.

* Defile Ashes - Kill Dragon: After the talk with Avernus, my warden was left wondering what hidden powers were in the darkspawn blood. The cultists are obviously crazy, but Morrigan agrees that the dragon´s blood is a valuable gift, and my warden wants all the power he can get in order to be powerful enough to leave his mark on the world (redeem himself in the eyes of the ancestors -for being born casteless-, doing great things to prove his worth beyond doubt, etc. dwarf culture is about proving´s one worth, in this case, my warden is a sort of representative for all casteless, trying to show the world just what one can do if given the chance). My warden has nothing agaisnt the chantry, but as the urn is just a myth, if no one knows it was destroyed, then no one cares, things will remain as usual. He can get away with it.

* Queen Anora - Drunk Alistair: My dwarf commoner is a warden fanboy, wanted to join them and was grateful for being given the chance. He defends the interests of the wardens first, and it is in the interest of the wardens to not disturb the government of Ferelden, leaving the queen in his place (not placing some warden king), thus looking better to the eyes of other nations, making wardens better received abroad. At the landsmeet, Alistair cannot handle Loghain joining the grey wardens, as Riordan advises (my dwarf as a fanboy always listen to advice from senior wardens, like Duncan or Riordan), so for the sake of their past friendship, and on the chance that after his tantrum he changes his mind and decides to come back and help fight the blight, the warden intercedes and spares Alistair´s life.

* Loghain Redeemed: The dark ritual is rejected because it is just too unpredictable, my warden has nothing agaisnt using blood magic, but only used for the greater good (like defeating the darkspawn), what Morrigan wants is unknown, and she could make the darkspawn situation worse by letting an old god get away, and start a new blight. Therefore the safe route is stick with the tried and tested ways, and like a warden fanboy, stick to what a warden should do. Loghain gets his chance to die for Ferelden, and redeems himself on the eyes of the people, the warden is thus spared and can continue working on his goal to destroy the darkspawn forever. He calls a royal boon of military aid to Orzammar, in order to help the dwarves fight their never ending battle, as payback for helping with the Blight which was primarily a surface problem.

My perfect ending was as my second Cousland, Gawain.

Circle Tower: Saved.

Brecilian Forest: Curse ended, werewolves free to go.

Haven: Cult killed, dragon killed, Urn free for everyone the Gauntlet allows through.

Redcliffe: Takes the gamble of going to the Tower, it pays off. And it should go entirely without saying that I fought to save the village. Faerunner makes a good argument that the Couslands are less perfect than they're painted as, but Gawain (usually) tries not to be.

Orzammar: You know how Mary Kirby says that Qunari soldiers are born with the ability to stand in line, and Qunari fishermen are drawn to neighbors' swimming pools by an unseen force? My headcanon for this guy is that he saw Bhelen and Harrowmont, and due to having a whole bunch of politician ancestors who had had to guess at allies' motivations and manipulate their way to the top he immediately grasped that he had to choose between a well-meaning weakling and a powerful thug, reluctantly chose the thug, and was somewhat heartened to discover that Bhelen was also nicer to the poor than Harrowmont.

The Anvil: Not anymore, there isn't.

Landsmeet: My headcanon where he reads people kicks in again here, as he sets the Landsmeet up to where he has basically already won before he sets foot inside. Yes it was Gawain who won, rather than Alistair or Eamon, since Gawain has already orchestrated his own ascension to Prince-Consort status. (Though Alistair feels quite victorious, as you'll see.) He ends up with as many votes as possible, except for Vaughn's vote since Howe had already executed him before Gawain arrived. (Anyone who says differently is slandering the king, and also a liar. Though at least this means Gawain doesn't have his happy ending marred by having that psycho loose in his country, disturbing the king's peace.) Then when it comes time to duel, Gawain steps aside to let Alistair do it, in order to kill Loghain without appearing to be behind his death. The problem is that Gawain somehow ends up dueling Loghain anyway. I'm not sure if I pressed the wrong button, or if Alistair stepped aside for Gawain's sake, not realizing that Gawain was trying to not be seen as killing his father-in-law and wanted Alistair to heat-of-the-moment him. At any rate, Gawain then lets Alistair take Loghain's head off, since despite not really blaming Loghain for Ostagar there's no way he's getting in Alistair's way on this. In my headcanon Gawain correctly suspects Alistair would desert over it.

Morrigan's Ritual: Gawain persuaded Alistair to do it, since he wanted there to be an OGB for the sake of their lives, but would prefer that it be from a bloodline with no claim to the throne.

Redcliffe: Saved. No brainer.

Redcliffe Castle: Save Isolde and Connor.

Circle Tower: Save Mages. Their magic will be too useful in the coming fight against the Blight.

Werewolves: Zathrian lifts the curse. I see no reason to slaughter either side.

Anvil: Destroyed.

Orzammar: Harrowmont crowned. Picking Behlen involves metagaming, falling for his lies or making a totally arbitrary choice for king. Nothing beforehand suggests he would make a good king, and plenty suggests he wouldn't. Besides, a tyranny is only as good/strong as the tyrant. Okay Behlen might be a good leader, but what about whoever comes after? Better to keep the Assembly, I say.

Urn: Ashes not defiled (why destroy something sacred for the sake of it?). Dragon not killed (ridiculous to pick such a fight unnecessarily). Genetivi not killed (you want to turn your sacred sites into tourist attractions? What right do I have to stop you? Of course, there is a dragon for you to get past first...).

Landsmeet: Alistair beheads Loghain (feels like justice for the wardens). Anora crowned - Alistair remains a Grey Warden (really, why would anyone think Alistair would make a capable monarch - especially more capable than Anora? He is a warden through and through).

Dark Ritual: Accepted. Morrigan makes several good points. And to be fair, she's given me no reason to mistrust her.

I find it hard to believe that Bhelen's heir could be worse than the Assembly. That stuff they do where they take entirely too fracking long to make a decision? That's standard, and I see no reason it's going to change. If nothing else, the odds of Bhelen's heir failing worse than they do are rather poor.

If by perfect ending, we mean happy ending, then mostly I agree with this. The only thing I have to add is that the warden should be a dwarven commoner or human noble. In the case of the DC the warden will be paragon and his/her sister will presumably be queen in Orzammar with Bhelen. As for the HN, the warden can marry either Alistair or Anora themselves, depending on their gender. Though it might not be too happy an ending for Anora if female human noble becomes queen in her place... :P

LOL your King Gawain sounds a lot like my King Gawain.  Your choices mirrored mine almost exactly.  Right down to dueling Loghain.  It felt right to me on him since he was going to be king after.  And he allowed Alistair to take the killing blow, knowing how it felt to finally see justice brought to Howe.

Except for the ritual.  Gawain did it himself, as his one 'dirty little secret' since Anora knew about Leliana (who he kept as his mistress).  Neither of them knew about the price he paid to Morrigan.

Warden: Airam Surana, male, ice magic / arcane warrior - my first playthrough ever, and still my canon.

Romance: Zevran, he decided to stay with my Warden

Mage Circle: laughed at Greagoir for being a coward, then entered the Tower with Zevran, Alistair and Leliana (dropped Alistair when Wynne joined them). Didn't skip the Fade, mourned Niall, killed Uldred and saved Irving. In the end even Greagoir grudgingly admitted he was impressed.

Redcliffe: forced the dwarf, the innkeeper and the elven spy to fight, but then did everything to keep them alive; saved Jowan and sent him to the Fade to defeat the demon. Both Connor and Isolde survived, of course.

Urn of Andraste: refused to play with ropes and altars in Haven and instead killed all fanatics; refused the offer to drink the dragon's mind, as the memory of drinking darskpawn blood was still fresh in his mind and killed more fanatics; solved all riddles, and opened the temple for public (though he regreted he didn't take more ashes with him, for healing purposes).

Nature of the Beast: had a long talk with Zathrian and made him see the truth; Zathrian sacrificed himself to save both werewolves and the elves. Realised that the weird things in his inventory were gifts, and gave Zevran the Dalish gloves.  Thus the romance between them started. :D

Orzammar:  Made Bhelen the king.
In truth, he was annoyed by both of them... Bhelen was accused of killing his siblings, but, as a Crow and a bard in his group pointed out, the former king died of 'broken heart' when no one but Harrowmont was with him, and there was no clear proof that the king really wanted Harrowmont to replace his only remaining child on the throne. In the end he chose Bhelen, because he was more direct and seemed more pragmatic and strong; Harrowmont couldn't convince even few fighters to remain loyal in the Provings. Not a king for the times of a Blight, the Warden decided.
Also because Harrowmont was traditionalist and would support the caste system. The Warden being an elven mage, he sympathized with casteless (they're cursed by the ancestors, he's cursed by the maker) and hoped Bhelen would change it.

Anvil of the Void: Destroyed
He hated slavery in any form. Argued with Sten and, to his surprise, Zevran. Refused to accept the 'pragmatic view', because he decided it was wrong to sacrifice dwarves to save people on surface.

Landsmeet: won the Landsmeet, killed Loghain, imprisoned Anora and made Alistair the king
Maybe he would be too merciful, if not for fort Drakon. Anora betrayed him - Cauthrien was Loghain's lieutenant, not Howe's, and Anora didn't have to be afraid to admit who she was... during the difficult night in the fort, he came to conclusion that it was a trap from Anora's side (because, how would she get the guard's armour, if she was locked behind magical barrier?).
He killed Cauthrien and named Zevran his champion (by that time, they reached "Love" status and the air was full of pink hearts and sí, amora). Anora's love of her daddy didn't concern him - if she was so afraid of her father that she couldn't trust Cauthrien, then she was better off without him.

Dark Ritual: Alistair accepted it.
Though in the cutscene it was obvious that he was scared ****less.

He then continued to the Amaranthine, but mysteriously lost Zevran somewhere on the way. That made him rather acerbic; he developed the so-called 'Shale syndrome', except in his case it was focused on crows. But, in the end he saved everything and everyone (and without metagaming! was so proud of myself! >.>). Then he ran to Antiva where he caused havoc, exterminated most of those pesky birds, retrieved his lost love and returned with him to Amaranthine to live happily ever after.

Later they found there was a weird, ugly imposter in Kirkwall pretending to be Zevran. They went to investigate it, and since then nobody in Ferelden heard about them. But, by that time they were so overpowered that it's safe to assume they're both fine.

Dark Warden: female human mage/thief (modded on PC)

Romance: None, but she flirted with Cullen to make him uncomfortable.

General behavior: picked every pocket, killed blue-circle NPCs whenever possible, killed or drove away companions as allowed. Skipped quests having only heroic/selfless solutions, took dark path whenever possible.

Ostagar: Killed the sick mabari. Killed the prisoner for his key. Lied to the elf to get Ser Garlan's sword.

Lothering: Left Sten to die in his cage. Killed the unscrupulous merchant after driving away the Chantry sister. Extorted the crowd after threatening the doomsayer and driving him off. Left the elven family to think they were destitute even though I had obliterated the highwaymen. Lied to the lost little boy. Disrespected the Chantry mother. Ask for a reward for helping Ser Donall. Killed all of Loghain's men in the tavern.

Camp: Told Morrigan to take a hike.

Return to Ostagar: Left Cailan's corpse to the wolves.

Soldier's Peak: Killed Avernus and let demon Sophia walk free. Partook of the blood elixir.

Redcliffe: Killed Berwick after confronting him about the letter I picked from his pocket. Intimidated Lloyd and Dwyn into joining the militia. Aided the militia/knights to increase morale and give them a false sense of hope. Killed everyone along with zombies that night. Asked Teagan for a reward during the recognition of the fallen.

Redcliffe Castle: Let Jowan sacrifice Isolde so I could enter the fade. Made a deal with the demon to free Connor and Eamon for now, but to return to Connor when he was older. Sealed the deal with a moment of passion. Afterward I personally executed Jowan in his cell. Didn't rescue Valena so Owen the blacksmith hung himself. Murdered the doomsayer in Redcliffe.

Random Encounters: Killed Zevran without allowing him to speak.

Mage Circle: Killed Wynne and her supporters, let all mages including Irving be turned to abominations before defeating demon Uldred. Let the desire demon and her captive templar leave in peace.

Urn of Andraste: Didn't help Genetivi with his leg. Agreed to help Kolgrim until we got past the dragon, then slew them and killed the High Dragon. Desecrated the ashes then killed Leliana and the Guardian. Murdered Genetivi on the way out.

Orzammar:  Pissed off Oghren so he left. He mysteriously returned so I killed him. Made Harrowmont king, supported Branka at the Anvil. Ghost Oghren returned when we met Branka, but left later when I went to camp after appointing a king. Talked Zerlinda into killing her son. Destroyed the Legion of the Dead along with the darkspawn. Didn't do anything to help the Shaperate, or Orta, or Dagna. Did help Burkel establish the Chantry to spread some chaos.

Anvil of the Void: Preserved. Offered (ghost) Oghren's soul for the first new golem.

Nature of the Beast: killed the wrong Halla after giving a misdiagnosis. Slept with Cammen then taunted Ghayna about it. Taunted Athras about his wife after killing her. Pissed off the elves in general so they wouldn't trade with me. Sided with the werewolves then killed the elves. Also sided with the mad mage and killed the Great Oak. Agreed to help the trapped spirit so it would teach me Arcane Warrior, then tossed the crystal aside and left it to suffer.

Landsmeet: Killed Cauthrien, supported Anora, had Alistair executed, made Loghain a Warden for the purpose of sacrificing himself in my stead. Refused Morrigan's ritual and told her I should have killed her earlier.

Dark Ritual: Refused.

Aftermath: No companions were present at Anora's celebration. Only Anora and the two guards would talk to me. Epilogue was dark as possible except for the final plate which assumed I had multiple surviving companions, when in reality only Morrigan still lived.

Okay, I did a replay with a mage and as it turns out that it was indeed a bug which caused you to side with templars and be able to save Arl Emons family.

In which case I change my original choice and SIDE WITH MAGES instead.

Also, thank you people for sharing your views and opinions.

Sided with the mages. Saved Connor and Isolde. Didn't defile the ashes. Crowned Bhelen. Negotiated a peaceful ending between the Dalish and the Werewolves. Didn't accept the blood ritual in the Alienage. Won the Landsmeet by landslide. ;) Made Alistair and Anora marry each other.

I spared Loghain. Refused the Dark Ritual then cheerfully fed him to the Archdemon. IMO I couldn't get a much better ending that that.

This is how my most recent playthrough went, and I'm quite happy with my decisions. I played Natia Brosca.

Redcliffe: Managed to save everyone during the assault (except for Lloyd, such a shame). Spared Isolde and saved Connor, mainly because I knew it would make Alistair happy and he's my boo. Morrigan entered the Fade for me.

Mage Circle: Sided with the Mages, because I knew I'd need them for Connor.

Orzammar: Made Bhelen king, for my sister and nephew's sake.

Anvil of the Void: Sided with Caridin and destroyed the anvil, because Branka is a crazy b*tch.

Nature of the Beast: Had Zathrian lift the curse. Never liked that guy.

Urn of Andraste: Killed Kolgrim, didn't defile the ashes, let Genitivi live and let him open the Urn to pilgrims, but not without warning him first. Killed the High Dragon.

Alienage: Killed the slavers. My dwarf distrusts blood magic, magic is supposed to come from lyrium.

Landsmeet: Killed Ser Cauthrien. Had Alistair defeat Loghain in a duel. Hardened Alistair became king.

Dark Ritual: Accepted, because I didn't like the idea of having to either sacrifice myself or my beloved.

Companions: Recruited everyone. Hardened both Alistair and Leliana, and completed all companion quests.

Warden's Keep: Let Avernus continue his research, but ethically.

played as Female, human noble.

In order of how I did them:

Denerim: my first choice of destination, following Morrigan's advise that we should just go assassinate Loghain.
Unfortunately I could not find access to Loghain despite exploration, so the plan is now changed to raising an army instead.
I figured that with Loghain busy dealing with civil war, I should try to make an army under his radar first.
Planning to leave Redcliffe for last.

Brescilian forest: Werewolves exterminated, deal with Zathrian kept, Dalish Elves keep Warden pact.
(originally tried to lift werewolf curse, but that other werewolf guy provoked a fight during the talks, and I was obliged by my promise to protect Zathrian)

Orzammar n the Deep Roads: Hoped to use golems against Darkspawn, so secured Anvil of Void and Branka. Initially torn between Harrowmont and Bhelen, but I figured Bhelen's the more cunning (less trust-able) between the two, and all I cared about was securing Dwarven support. I choose Harrowmont, slain Bhelen.
Half heartedly supported Brother Burke's chantry.

Redcliffe: more confident now that I already gathered an army backing from Elves and Dwarves, I went to Redcliffe to now put my name on the civil war map. Spared Jowan. Figured it's stupid to do Jowan's ritual since I figured Lyrium could be obtained easily, thus take detour to Circle Tower.

Circle Tower: saved the Mages.

Redcliffe: with Circle Mages' help, saved Connor.

Village of Haven: I thought I could use High Dragon for my army, so I sided with Kolgrim and destroyed Andraste Ashes.
My lover Leliana and that old hag Wynne turned on me, their inability to see that I'm doing all this to save Ferelden, forced me to kill them both. Unfortunately Kolgrim refused to help my war. Disappointed by their stupidity, I killed Kolgrim's gang. At this point the High Dragon is just an oversized menace, so I killed her too.
Gained some Ashes to save Eamon.
Genitivi was allowed to accompany me to temple, and was allowed to return home.

Landsmeet:
In attempt to rescue Anora, killed Howe, got set up by Anore but absolutely refused to surrender to Cauthrein, quite a party there at Howe estate.
In alinenage, accepted that Blood Mage's offer to give me power, since I figured I need every ounce of preparation against Archdemon.
Agreed to support Anora but unwilling to spare Loghain.
But was betrayed by Anora again and Was outvoted in Landsmeet.
A big brawl where it became obvious that only I and Loghain dominated the battles, everyone else just suck and keep dying.
That chantry sister made me duel Loghain, I won, I execute Loghain.
I made Alistair (hardened) a king and I his queen.

Morrigan's Ritual:
I wanted to accept, but it was less about what I think's gonna happen in battle, but more about because it seems this is what Morrigan truly wanted, and I want to reward her for her loyalty.
Tried to assure Alistair that this was the right thing to do but he refused.
(Ironically this is about the only time I actually listened to Alistair, that fateful moment would decide how this story end -_-)
Morrigan left.

The Final Battle:
Told Alistair to standby with the troops since it's just irresponsible for a king to abandon his troops. Besides I thought there's possibility of Archdemon going this way, I thought I want to cover more ground.
Riordan got killed.
Found the Archdemon. But all my stupid teammates got killed early on.
A truly epic battle between my Berserker/Reaver all alone against Archdemon and his endless Darkspawn goons.
I won in the end, exhausted of potions and near death myself.
Killed Archdemon, ended the blight, died.

...

What would my char say?
"I didn't want to be Grey Warden, I hated being Grey Warden.
But what I hated more is fact that everyone else seem to just suck at it, so there's only me fit for the job.
I don't care how you guys see what I did as 'ultimate sacrifice', to me it's just a giant F U ALL gesture.
No thank you for screwing everything up, and now I'm dead. F U ALL !!!"

I truly consider this an excellent story.

Male Cousland - Warrior

Roleplayed a dutyful Warden that would not refuse help or power as long as the condition was not outrageous.

Circle tower: Saved the mages, he realized not all of them were bad and that their abilities were too valuable to lose.

Bracilian forest: Killed the werewolves because they were dooming people that were not responsible for Zathrian actions, and as such, they were no better then him, but also killed Zathrian right after because he was still responsible for this damn mess, and his first is well suited to take his place.

Orzammar: Crowned Harrowont king because he had little insight of what was happening and Belhen to him was a backstabbing ass that was willing to stomp friends and family to get what he wanted (wich reminded my Warden of Howe)

Anvil: Destroyed the Anvil. The golem army sure sounds useful, but destroying lifes of defenseless civilians by turning them into war machines to fight the darkspawn made my Cousland feel like he wasn't better then the enemy in this particular situation.

Redcliffe: Saved the village. And sacrificed Isolde to purge the demon in the fade. My Warden wouldn't risk going to the circle tower and risk the demon to go on a rampage while he goes to the tower seeking help.

Sacred ashes: Defiled the ashes. My Warden didn't supported the Chantry, and saw no reason to not help Kolgrim if it meant recieving great powers in return. I still killed Kolgrim and his man because he felt they were too dangerous to be left alive. Slayed the High dragon. Why not?

Landsmeet: Married hardened Alistair to Anora and recruited Loghain. He was an great warrior and talented strategist. He was of more use alive and fighting then dead and burried. This also felt like an lesson to Alistair see the true nature of the Grey Wardens: They don't do what is "right", but what is necessary to achieve victory.

Dark ritual: Accepted Morrigan offer. He was in an romance with her. He didn't wanted to lose his lover and neither the only mage of the party (Wynne rage quited after the whole ashes thing)

Recruited all companions and finished all their personal quests.

Slayed the Archdemon with Loghain, Morrigan and Leliana at my side.
