Basically, I'm working on a small little location for my own sake that is basically the home and treasure trove of the main character/kalach-cha/etc. It has all sorts of little things that the player might've come across and even some that were cut and one of these items is the old prayer book from Ammon Jerro's Haven.

I want it to work, but I'm crap with scripting and I don't know what to export. Any ideas?

Items that do special things when you activate them have scripts called i_<item's tag>_ac. There are also other item tag-based scripts that do things when you acquire them, drop them, equip/unequip them, etc., with different endings. For activation, you only need the _ac one for each item.

Alright, but what would I need to do?

Bear in mind that I'm a complete newbie with scripting.

If you find the script following tchos advice, you only need to copy it over to your module or campaign folder and compile it. You'd probably want to export the item itself, but it sounds like you already did that.

So would I need to import just the book or the book and the pages?

If the pages also need to be brought over, do I stick them with the script too?

I'm not familiar with the item, but I would think you'd need to bring over everything associated with it.

I don't know the item you're talking about either, so I don't know what the pages are. If they're used to construct a final book item, and you only want the final book, then you only need that.

Also, you won't need to compile the script if you copy the .ncs file, which is the compiled script that should already be there. The .nss version is an uncompiled, human-readable script.  This only applies if you're using a campaign folder, or module directory mode, or adding it to your override folder (and copying the file directly into them), rather than using the export and import functions.
