Is there any way to know or predict when the Harvesters are about to shoot you? About 90-95% of all my deaths on this mission are because the Harvesters decide to take potshots at me.

I am not talking about the Harvester at the end of the mission, or the Harvester that drops in about halfway through the mission to take a few very obvious shots at you until you damage it enough that if flies away. I am talking about the Harvesters that fly around throughout the entire mission that just appear to be background atmosphere until one of them decides that it does not like you and decides to kill you dead without any apparent warning.

Seriously, is there any way to know when one of the Harvesters is about to shoot you? Is there some sort of indication that I am just not seeing that I should be looking out for?

Or am I the only goofball that experiences this problem?

This is a great question.

I actually never had it happen until the other day where it happened several times in a row. I was just heading into one of the shacks and I would get killed right at the door out of the blue.

I have no idea. Basically I just don't worry about it.

I just played through that mission again, and they got me right before I got to the elevator. Resumed and walked out there and nothing. Then I just stood around and watched and they kept shooting a spot pretty far away from me.

I played that mission maybe 7 times, and never had this happen. Would you say you move slow or fast?

Sometimes fast, sometimes slow.

I would say I tend to get shot more if I take it slow, but I have also gone through fairly quickly before and have still gotten shot.

On my very first playthrough, I walked through very slowly so I could appreciate all the work the developers put into the level design, plus I wanted to make sure I did not miss any mods or credits. I never got shot once.

It just seems random. And sometimes I have no chance to avoid it as I get shot while climbing ladders.

If you are curious, here are some examplesAnd here are more examples.

Have you got any plans to do more original Mass Effect style ME 2 and 3 builds Red? I'm really enjoying my offensive tech armour sentinel and am curious as to if/how tech armour can be translated or how it'd play if kept to it's ME roots.

Tech Armor does not really translate into ME1 since it was not present in ME1. However, the ME1 Sentinel had Barrier and Electronics which added extra shields, so the Damage Reduction aspect of ME3 Tech Armor would essentially be like adding extra shields, so you could just set it and forget it.

Here is the ME1 Sentinel skill set: Throw, Lift, Barrier, Stasis, Overload, Sabotage, Neural Shock, First Aid, Unity, Marksman
ME1 Sentinels could use Pistols only. Shepard also had grenades.

So the ME3 Sentinel could use: Throw, Overload (with Neural Shock evolution), Lift Grenades (grenade equivalent), and Tech Armor (equivalent to Barrier and Electronics; must not detonate).

For Bonus Power, you could use one of:
 - Stasis
 - AP Ammo
 - Marksman
 - Barrier (to replace Tech Armor)
 - Inferno Grenades, to add to your grenade total and/or replace Lift Grenades for more ME1-friendly grenades. ME1 had the Incendiary Grenades grenade mod which dealt fire damage over time, just like Inferno Grenades.

Depending on how much you want to blur the lines between bonus powers and ME1-style powers, you could also use:
 - Proximity Mine as a grenade equivalent
 - Slam or Lash as a Lift equivalent

ADVANCED: For pistols, you can use only the Predator or Carnifex. You could also use the Paladin since it is just a re-skinned Carnifex; you can also get it much earlier than the Carnifex. You could make a case for the Suppressor since it just a Carnifex with a silencer, but the silencer was never modelled in ME1 so I would probably not use it myself except when forced to in the Citadel DLC.

ADVANCED: Use only the default N7 armor to match the default Onyx Armor in ME1.

ADVANCED: Use only ME1 squadmates except when forced (Tali, Ashley/Kaidan, Garrus, Liara, Wrex on Citadel DLC). Try to have a balanced squad; that is, try to have a mix of combat, tech, and biotics.

ADVANCED: Equip squadmates with only ME1-modeled weapons: Predator, Carnifex/Paladin, Mantis, Viper, Avenger, Vindicator, Geth Pulse Rifle, Lancer, Katana, Scimitar

ADVANCED: Use only ME1 powers (or equivalents) on squadmates:
 - Ashley: Concussive Shot (Carnage equivalent), Marksman
 - Kaidan: Barrier, Overload; can use Neural Shock evolution on Overload
 - Liara: Singularity, Warp, Stasis
 - Tali: Sabotage, Energy Drain (Overload equivalent)
 - Wrex comes with some points already allotted into powers. Try to use only Barrier and Carnage.

Edit 1: You could also check out the thread Mass Effect 1 style classes.
Edit 2: Added some advanced restrictions.

Thanks for the build advice and link Caes. My current Sentinel is my first ever ME 3 Sentinel playthrough and I followed Abe UK's advice on how to make a Tech Armour Assault build. I'm thoroughly enjoying it but regret that I haven't used a trilogy/lore friendly character: I went ME Engineer, ME2 Engineer and ME3 Sentinel and the addition of Biotics has broken immersion in a few conversations.

So I'm really tempted to do another trilogy run after this and stick to a ME1 style build. I'll definitely refer back to this page then.

But you avoided my question. Any plans on more vids exploring more of the ME1 Vanguard or other classes?

Maybe in the future. I am in the midst of a break from ME3, but I will be back playing it at some point. Not sure if i will be recording any more full playthroughs. Maybe just the occassional vid.
