Oh, hai Boards.


Here's my question - can a triple-stealth party be viable in Origins (Pre-Awakening?) - I am thinking of playing a Female Rogue with Leliana, Zevran, and maybe Shale or a Mage to round out the party and be able to sneak up on the opponents, clear all the traps, and then jump out and crit the enemies. I imagine I have to go for Level 4 Stealth ASAP to make this work.

Is Shale or Mage better for the fourth slot? Let me know, and thank you for your time!

I think it would be cool with 3 archers + shale.
with stealth & song of courage on archers and rock mastery on shale

Lol, the thread title gave me the impression that someone's throwing a party for the rogue fraternity! What??

Anyway, on topic, yes that is viable. Viability is bounded above by one's experience level with the game and below by one's gluttony for boredom. Without a mage you'll probably need to have a few health poultices handy. That's the main decision you need to make. Personally I don't like using poultices. What keeneaow mentioned above is one cool way of doing it. Or you can bring an AW mage for dual purpose - tanking and life-support. Or may be use shale simply as a tank if your party is melee-centric.

My personal choice would be a mage unless I'm going for the 3 archer and shale setup.

Rogue party! That's pretty damn awesome!

Go for the three rogues plus Morrigan. Make all three of your rogues rangers and emphasize Morrigan's shapeshifting abilities.

I was trying a triple-rogue PT, with the idea of sneaking past as many fights as possible.

I'm having difficulties - low poultice count, and it's still early enough that yellow enemies are spotting Leliana, popping her out of stealth when we're surrounded by bad guys - and often not just *this* room full of bad guys, but also the last room we snuck past.

It's my first Nightmare PT also, so I'm thinking I could either turn the difficulty down, or else bring a 4th companion (like you're thinking).

Mousestalker's party is pretty sweet. That looks pretty terrifying on the battlefield. It's pretty awesome to have a party of 7.
