Good lord please no. An MMO can never be as rich in story or as fun as a proper single player RPG.
Even the new star wars MMO bioware is making would have been better as a single player game... though I have confidence it'll be at least tolerable... but the mere MMO aspect greatly diminishes a games overall quality in order to shoe-horn the massive multiplayer aspect of it all.
You sacrifice a lot in a game's overall quality just to be able to get to play with others on a large scale.
Keep ME as single player please.
QFT.
They've already gone and ruined KotOR with MMO-dom, let's not have ME go the same way.

Honestly, I'd much rather they just stick with that Star Wars MMO they're making and leave the Mass Effect universe alone for the time being. But that's just me. *shrug*
Me too. I'm already not getting KOTOR III and really feel for my friends who are pining for a Warcraft IV.

WoW destroyed Warcraft utterly. I don't want that to happen to ME.

again As I said in the OP They should wait till after ME3 is out in stores to begain work on a ME MMO that way with either the sucess or failer of SWTOR they will know what to do with the ME MMO and have the time to work on it properly.Nyaore wrote...

It should never.. ever ever... it would destroy what Mass Effect is, has been, and will be.. a TRUE, IMMERSIVE, IMMENSE, AMAZING Sci-Fi Story!
I mean.. they should literally made a movie out of it!! All the cutscenes in Mass Effect 1 are amazing, and the path they did choose to start over on Mass Effect 2 default character should be the one which the movie should take..
That would be something awesome, but an MMO it's just a No-Go.

Bioware ahs said that Mass Effect is a Trilogy. what an MMO would be is its own game seprate from shepards story. it could be set in the frontire wars or after the events of ME3Cavegeta wrote...

see I dont think its the games you hate but the players in it. you are like so amny others who get so angery over the "noob" issue. when the game is perfectly fine its out side things that upset you. Any yes I fear that with a ME MMO there would be tons of Shepard clones running aroudn but at the same time youg e the real players who take tiem to amke their own PC and develop their own personal story. and that is where true gameing lays.Skalman91 wrote...

and what is so bad about MMOs. pelase enlighten me. If they make it with a compellign story and a deep open univurs full of explorationa nd adventure than what is the down side.Skalman91 wrote...

If TOR is a flop than clearly they would not make another MMO but what if it is a huge success and kills WOW. would it than be a smart move to try and incorprate ME or even DA into the MMO format.Crawling_Chaos wrote...
Obviously, what Bioware needs is to make 3 MMO's to compete with eachother. DA, ME, and SWTOR.
"But what if TOR is a flop?"
If a game based on one of the most popular IP's in the world AND is made by Bioware and ends being a flop, do you think one based on a Bioware IP would do any better?
No, that would never be smart, I would loose all hope for bioware and continue to hope for the rest of my life that every single bioware employee and all their families and everyone they know would die the most horrible death imaginable.
That's how bad MMOs are.
I could write a book about it and still not be able to explain everything that's bad about it. I've had this conversation so many times before, I just don't have the energy to get into it again.
So in short: Every single thing about it.
One of the problems with MMOs is that everyone is the hero, because nobody wants to be "Impatient dockworker nr 21". In a singleplayer game, the protagonist is the hero, and that makes for a great narrative, but in a MMO everyone is equal and does the same missions.
In MMOs everyone does the same missions over and over and over. It's like Eden Prime is always under attack by the geth or Virmire blows up a thousand times a day, its very poor story-wise.
The only MMOs to my knowledge that have handled this problem okay are Planet Side and EVE Online. Where in planet side, you were "random soldier nr 3425" and in EVE Online you we're actually a person in space who decides to do something for a living, whether that be cargo transports, military service or working the stock market. And the quest aren't done over and over and over, the world is entirely controlled by the players within it. Regions rise and fall, borders shift and the world is in constant change. That is a prime example of MMO games done right, where one man actually can make a difference but not everyone can be that one man, many people will just be a military officer or a miner in an asteroid belt. Not everyone has what it takes to lead an army or be the head of a mega-corporation.
So unless ME turns out to be more or less exactly like EVE Online, i see only disappointment and agony in the future of an Mass Effect MMO.
Now look what you did, you got me discussing the subject again, bad killoth, BAD!

I get your point. Mine and all lot of other people's is that we would rather have another single player game nothing else started off with a new character to play as. The experience playing an MMO is completely different from playing a single player.
