Shut up you! Miranda is so Tsundere!

I tend to like tsundere. That's stuff like Han/Leia right? First there's friction and coldness, then it warms over time? Yeah that's good.

Miranda was horrible tsundere though. She has less of a melting arc and more of a melting flip switch...

The concept definitely is there, although it was rushed through the game.

All the best romance are the tsundere in my opinion.

Shepard and Miranda

Dexter and Hannah

Revan and Bastila

Luke and Mara... especially this one.

Awful. I hate them all.(I hate all romances.)

Yes, that's precisely the point. Content in a game is not mean to be a chore that frustrates players. It's meant to be a game. And should be a game.

David, I have been getting frustrated with games since the '80s.

But once you bite through that frustration and your skills improve you feel good right? You feel like you achieved something. You have fun again and when you do you're back into the flow state.

THAT'S what video-games are all about.

Okay, so rewarding players for completing side missions while making those missions fun for the player should be considered good game design.

But a game is  supposed to be challenging, not something that can be completed with the minimal amount of effort like you said. That's just wrong and not true.

A very slight challenge that is basically negligable to someone who spends any amount of time playing video games in the first place.

How much do you actually get from scanning anyway? I view them the same as I do MP: a cushion so I can avoid certain tedious missions or those that give me some trouble. I do think being a thorough player should be rewarded, though I'd prefer Fallout-style epilogues or in-game notification to necessarily affecting the endgame. I don't need the points from Grissom but I have never skipped it because of the horiffic consequences,

Absolutely.

However, there's a far more subtle and equally important point behind all of this.

Me think's..... That in the balance of all things video game..... They wrote a story, but didn't reflect on how that story at the games end, would reflect via the gameplay.

ME3's combat may have been tweaked for better performance. But for a BW title to only offer that as the bread and butter of the gameplay.......

There was little if any variety on offer in ME3 that was there in ME1 and 2.

They could stand to remember that BW's rep comes from RPG's. They coud make a stripped back shooter. But the market is full of those. Better that BW bring their RPG experience to the proceedings to add more variety.

And if their are those who don't want those elements...... let them pick action mode where they are removed. Whle RPG mode keeps them in to play as Mass Effect is meant to be played with all the bells and whistles.

Sh-shut up stupid jedi! I'm just helping you because Thrawn pissed me off! I-Its not like I like you or anything!

More than just that... Luke has a lot of balls to do what he did with Mara... She did kind of make it her life passion to kill him (even if it was highly amplified by the Emperor's Telepathic Command).

Farmboy knew exactly what he was doing.

Some say he's a shinning beacon of pure heroism.

I however believe he's got just enough subtle troll to be truly likable.

I have enough assets that my Shepard can just go "Fuck All, BANZAI!" after Mars and still kick the Reapers ass. But I still go above and beyond in my game, and get every asset. It's rather irritating to not get rewarded for that in the game.

If games aren't challenging enough for you to get you in the flow state you can only blame yourself. Turn up the difficulty.

If you still don't get in the flow state on a higher difficulty, then buy more difficult games (there are plenty of games that are A LOT MORE DIFFICULT than Mass Effect).

If you don't care about gameplay at all and simply are in it for the story, than that's fine, but if that's the case then just admit it.

There is no shame in admitting that you're really only in it for the story. I know plenty of people like that. I however, am not one of them. I play games because I like the challenge and I like to be in the state of flow.

If the gameplay in a video-game isn't interesting and I simply want to know the story I rather watch a video walkthrough of it on YouTube. Why bother playing a game that isn't fun to actually play?

It's just done so fast in ME2. They don't actually give her a cooling off period where she has the defrosting part. I think they should have saved the defrosting part until after Oriana's mission.

That's great. I hope you enjoy yourself. I hope everyone gets to play a difficulty that satisfies them.

However, you still don't 'earn' the success of the story and characters by playing the game on a higher difficulty. The person playing on a far lower difficulty still gets the exact same story and the exact same degree of success for the characters as you do.

Yeah Miranda was done a bit too fast but i still love her romance with Shepard.  i love the bickering and powerplay before the hooking up. They look so damn good together. :D

I tend to not count the entire Emperor Reborn storyline.

As I said, they made it go to fast - they should have held off on the defrosting part until after finishing her LM.
