And what's saving the galaxy to Shepard, Raven? What's losing Ashley or Kaidan? (and not mentioning them again for the rest of the game after the debriefing.) What's being made the first human Spectre in history? How many times is that mentioned once Shepard takes control of the Normandy?
They should have dropped the Reaper plot

I think what people are asking more of are opportunities to confront the potential ramifications of it, which may be primarily for those who have a more spiritual Shepard.David7204 wrote...

One just has to observe you for a short time. Your views are greatly rejected, and you hammer them down as if they're objective fact and that you're more intelligent for it.

That's an entire mission of dialogue that heavily concerns Lazarus. More, actually, since both the Illusive Man and Miranda discuss it on the station.AresKeith wrote...

My Shepard's not terribly spiritual and I wanted more reflection on it. For me, it wasn't just the whole brought-back-from-the-dead thing, but the total upheaval it has on Shepard's life. You go from being a career Alliance soldier surrounded by a set group of close allies to being called a traitor by those same allies, hung out to dry by the Alliance, and forced into assocation with (not to mention brought back to life by) a shady force that you can potentially be very conflicted about joining. Yet Shepard doesn't seem to react to much of this the way I did.Xilizhra wrote...

Saving the galaxy happens at the end. IT's actually mentioned by Stargazer, whose people have pretty much deified Shepard. As for the rest: a picture of the VS is in a frame on a desk in Shepard's cabin and if Shepard didn't romance anyone in ME2, there is a scene where Shepard is in his cabin looking at the picture before the crew travel through the Omega 4 relay; being made the human Spectre seems less of an achievement when you take out a giant mechanical squid.
However, dying and then being brough back is totally different. Death, which is permanent, inevitable, and irreversible, would shock anyone who has been brought back from it. Wouldn't Shepard have a lot of important questions about his death, as well as philosophical resurrection on it as well?

But Jack never struck me as mysterious. Her character was pretty straightforward. And I was fine with that.
