Please don't hate me for it, but can we please finally have controller support in the PC version?

It's clear from all the footage we're seeing that the 360 controller interface is functional while Bioware continues developing Dragon Age: Inquisition on PCs, so I'd just like to ask that they do NOT delete it and leave the PC version without even an option to use the controller like they did with Origins and 2, never mind the entire Mass Effect trilogy (particularly annoying was how in ME3 they didn't even bother leaving enough remnants of the code and controller images for it to be modded in like how it was for ME1 and 2).

Yes, I understand, Dragon Age gameplay is somewhat different on the PC, with some noteable differences in interactions with other objects/people, but still, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to just leave the controller interface there, at least for those of us who want to play the game without their wrists hurting from long usage of the mouse.

No, I'm not a "console peasant" (I don't even own a console), no, I don't think any kind of control method is superior to the other, I just want to have options, particularly when said options are already implemented, even partially, long before the game is released.

People's wrists hurt from using mice, but not from controllers?

"I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to..." are the famous last words of many a would-be armchair developer, so it is said.

However, I agree that they ought to include controller support. If I could still use keyboard commands while executing basic movement and such with the controller, I might use it.

When does Carpal tunnel usually start setting in? I've been playing games for waaaay too damn long yet my wrists are still fine. Perfect bone structure ftw.

Anyway I wanted to ask why anyone would begrudge you controller support but then I remembered where I was.

I remember asking when DA II came out and one of the developers gave me a technical reason why it wasn't as easy as 'leave the code in.' I've forgotten it, of course.

Naturally. Him using a controller with PC will be the reason the camera doesn't pull back enough for me or the Inquisitor uses auto-dialogue.

Have you ever heard of a console gamer developing carpal tunnel syndrome? I sure haven't. You don't strain your wrists while using a controller since you don't use them.

Controller support sounds delicious. I'm playing Skyrim on PC with a controller lately and it's great. The comfort of console gaming without losing access to the quick-save key ^^

Well, my wrist is starting to hurt when I use the mouse, but that may be because of height difference problems + I don't have any kind of mouse pad.

In the meantime, they could add a bird view option for a more tactical gameplay on consoles. Maybe an option to switch from action to tactical combat

I wouldn't be against controller support. I have a deformity in my fingers that can make mouse & keyboard uncomfortable.

No thank you, that would mean the already weak PC port would be even weaker.

Lolwut?

Because I really want no targeting, button smashing and lack of a camera aka DAO/DA2 console versions.

Including controller support isn't the same as removing kb/m support.

DAO didn't contain button mashing, besides I really don't get your argument about how controller support would make the pc version weak.

I wouldn't use it, and I'd expect the PC UI to be primarily designed for mouse and keyboard, but I don't know how many PC players have or would want to use controllers, or how difficult this would be to implement. So I can't really have a worthwhile opinion on whether it's worth doing.

I agree with the OP. If the game is meant to be played with a controller, there should be an option for the PC to play that way.

What, all third person games? No exceptions? OK. You're wrong, but whatever.

It couldn't hurt. But the last thing we need is for the PC to be more console oriented.

No thank you. Looking at vids of the PC version, I prefer what we got on the console. I wouldn't deny anyone an option, but if it's between what we've pretty much gotten and that, then I prefer what we've had.

I'd love controller support. As much as I enjoy PC gaming I started to game on consoles so I've always found it easier to play a game using a controller.

Sure. A controller is held with the arm in a neutral position, whereas a mouse requires the arm to be twisted.

Not that it doesn't still cause problems, especially if your hands are too big or too small for it.
