Yes, thank you for making my point for me. Stereotyping is a result of prejudice.

Its a result of ignorance.  Prejudice implies negative connotations, as I said sterotyping can be positive.

I hope all the LIs are for both gender protagonists again.

Also no whoever is saying it for the millionth time everyone in DA2 was not bisexual. So tired of hearing people say that. 4 or 5 people =/= everyone.

And I wasn't overly fond of how they did it in DAO.

It's a little concerning that being rejected by a woman makes her more "interesting".

Is it? Because I said it made her more interesting in terms of her character. Not as a potential romance option. Aveline is more interesting than Merill as character. That's my opinion.

Female characters can be interesting without them being romance options my friend, I hope you can see that. ^_^

Well it's the sort of thing I hear a lot, where male gamers say that characters like Aveline and Traynor are automatically more interesting because they reject the protagonist's advances. There are a couple of reasons I find it problematic, but as long as being rejected doesn't make you want to pursue Aveline even more, I guess it's not so bad.

Cool, I'm glad that has been cleared up. ^_^

Maybe, and to be honest this is me being hopeful about people in general, the reason why people find them more interesting is because in games someone rejecting the player is not something that happens very often? So it's just because it's unfamiliar they find it more engaging.

That or they watched too much Pepe Le Pew when they were young.

Yeah Aveline is just a great character in my opinion. My party is almost always Fenris, Aveline and Varric. That was fun. ^_^

In real life people have preferences.  Not everyone is bisexual.

All stereotypes are negative, even if they appear on the surface to be complimentary. Assuming people should behave a particular way because of their sexuality or ethnicity or gender is offensive, it doesn't matter if your assumptions are "good".

Good thing we're playing a video game then eh? And the real life preferences has nothing to do with what I said?

Besides in real life there are people who have four or five bisexual friends. It might not be common but if you wanna use the realism arguement neither is the protagonist in BW games.

Regardless realism has nothing to do with my preferences for romances in BW games.

People automatically assuming I am smarter than I really am is fine by me

Its a fantasy world where people have exhibited sexual preferences in the past.

People in Thedas have also expressed that they have sexual preferences.  Not everyone in Thedas is bisexual.

Let me say this really slowly for you before you try to get into the but but real life sexual preference stats!!!! circle jerk.

I. Do. Not. Care.

I don't.

I simply want all LIs to be open to either gender. Period. I want all the LIs in the fictional game I'm playing, based off fictional people in a fictional world to be open to both gender protagonists.

You have a problem with that? I refer you to the I don't care above. But real life? Again I refer you to the I don't care above.

Now if you want to discuss how sure I'd debate that with you but anything about why it shouldn't be implicated (particuarly bringing up real life for such reasoning as if I'm somehow unaware of real life sexualities and such)

I. Don't. Care.

I would like to see a BioWare game with exclusively homosexual LIs. Not even joking.

Hello Friends!!!!

Ok so I've been horribly wrong!!!! Often times, I'm sure I've been caught saying that "all LI's will be player sexual" BUT I was wrong! Here is a quote from Mr. Gaider himself about 11months ago.

"Once again-- the romances are *not* "all bisexual". While some people don't like subjective sexuality, being aware of the fact some of your love interests could romance someone of the same gender in another game takes a back seat to fairness and fun gameplay. As I said before, if we have a sufficient number of romances, a spread of set sexualities would actually be my preference... but that's not always going to be the case, as the game's focus is not on romance content even if threads on the BSN often seem to be."

Isn't Steve from ME3 an exclusive m/m option? And Samantha is a lesbian?

I think he means all LI's are gay

Oooh.

I doubt that'd ever happen cause resources.

And it'd still suck. Less people having access to LIs is bleh.

That game will be a blast with most gamers, especially with fans of shooters. I'll bet they would make quite a profit

If there was just one well written gay LI and no other 'manceable characters I really wouldn't mind. There's nothing wrong with making an RPG where you actually have to roleplay to access all the content.

I'm fine with "player-sexual" LIs, as long as the player continues to have the ability to initiate the romance.

I would personally like to see heterosexual LIs again in a future game, but I don't want the LGBT community to be excluded from anything. The writers would have to create an equal number of available options, which is apparently what David Gaider wants if resources permit it?

Im pretty positive they will never have same sex romances pushed upon the player, simply because they know how people would react (poorly).

I mean, I could go on BSN and whine every time a girl hits on me in a Bioware game.

They will never have a male S/S romance pushed on you heavily. They already pushed Liara on everyone heavily, whether or not you are interested.

The writers should also strive for interesting LIs.

In my opinion, Morrigan (apostate of uncertain intent) and Leliana (conflicted Chantry sister) were far more compelling than Isabela (thieving pirate hooker) and Merrill (woman-child).
