No, why would you save her in the first place?

She's not self righteous like Samara and I don't like the idea of someone claiming they'll kill me for making them do something they don't like. At least with Morinth, all I have to do is not have sex with her.

It doesn't matter. Morinth is a murderer who kills innocent people and enjoys it.

Why is Samara's self righteousness worse than a  psychopathic mass murderer's honesty?

Why wouldn't Morinth kill you if you told her to do something she doesn't like?

And what exactly do we mean by 'self-righteous'? A righteous person who gives themself enough credibility to act?

Would we prefer the righteous people to remain weak and helpless?

Regarding Morinth and Samara, this C.S. Lewis quote seems appropriate.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Morinth is a monster, but Samara frightens me more. She might be good, but she knows no compassion.

That quote is ironic and almost hypocritical when you consider the fact the C.S. Lewis was a Christian apologist.

Yeah, but he wasn't an authoritarian (afaik). Being an apologist, he enjoyed dialogue and a good debate over whacking people over the head with a bible.

Well, the thing is that he says "it would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies." That's pretty much what God is.

Of course I would, Morinth was my favorite character in the series! Whoever it was at Bioware who made the decision to have her killed off the way they did in ME3 is literally worse than the reapers.

I trust that my Shep can deal with Mornith if she goes out of control, but it's easy to buy into that self-righteous crap Samara spills and let your guard down. I like to know what type of monsters are onboard my ship and I know what I'm getting with Morinth.

I agree Fixer, I hated what they did with her. i would have welcomed her back on the Normandy.

You don't know what you're getting into with Morinth. Samara operates by a strict code and follows orders to the letter. Morinth is a manipulative murderer who can control people's minds and has spent the last several hundred years hiding and running, and lives only for her own personal gratification.

So, people let a psychopathic mass murder/serial rapist loose on the galaxy because Samara was a bit uppity towards Shepard?

Okay.

You don't know what you're getting into with Morinth

I suppose he's trying to argue that people like Morinth will always betray you whilst Samara may or may not, making Morinth the more predictable person.

Perhaps, but then I'd ask why someone would think Samara was going to betray them.

After the mission is over.

So there's not ambiguity, and it's not a betrayal.

Morinth on the other hand serves only herself.

Wouldn't she be posing as Samara like she did in ME2, anyway?

You know that it is not physically impossible for people to break their vows, right? You know, like Samara did in ME3 when she ditched her justicar vows to let her AY daughter loose on the galaxy?

Not physically impossible.

Less likely than Morinth doing something murderous?

Absolutely.

Only if she promises to hook up with Jacob.

It is entirely possible that Jacob's lameness will be able to overpower Morinth's Ardat-Yakshi abilities. Like this:

Ted Bundy would be more predictable, but it doesn't mean I'd want him in my company. Morinth support is hilarious.

She didn't break her vow... Falere agreed to stay at the Monastery. No vow broken.

Rather than killing her daughter as required by the code Samara committed suicide (or would have killed herself without Shepard's intervention), demonstrating that Samara only cares about her code as long as it serves a convenient excuse for murder.
