I actually liked the dog for the first game.   Not sure why it was even in DA2, other than a cameo pet to have in your house.    Its not that I didn't like him....  but for a rare breed that only a few select people ever have... they seem to be pretty prevalent.    That fact alone diminishes how special they are. 

Truth is, I would never have the dog in the party anyway and risk missing out on party banter.

I always name the Mabari "Bear".
