If you gave your life to kill the DemonGod at the end then how could you play the expansion?

RTO takes place before all that happened. So you can either play the Premium Content save that you get after you completed the game(which chronological happens BEFORE the end of the game), or start a new character and do RTO that way.

Yeah, the game is stated to rewind to some point during your march from Denerim to Redcliffe. So any choices you made at Landsmeet will matter (as in, whether it's Al or Loghain in your camp), but otherwise RtO technically takes place before the siege of the city.

I guess you mean Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening perhaps? You need to start out as a new Orlasian Warden I guess in the expansion - sorry
