Depends on how big and maze-y the levels are in Inqusition I suppose.

They don't need to put anything on the map as long as there is directions and quest objective. I want to know where I'm going. Imagine if you're in a dungeon, I don't want to walk through the same corridors. I don't want to be stuck in there like a maze...I had issues in the Deep Roads in DAO, and that was with a mini map lol.Beerfish wrote...
I don't really need a minimap, i also really dislike seeing enemies on a mini map (red dots). As long as you can quickly go to a map that is fine with me. Please for the love of god make it a clear map though. The fallout games had me pulling my hair out with their horrendous pip boy maps.

Yes, please, minimap. I have zero sense of direction in video games. In fact forget minimap, we have mounts now, it's time for lyrium powered, horse mounted satnav - 'Turn left at the next hurlock corpse.'
As long as we can TOGGLE the mini map on and off then I am all for it. I hated that you could NOT toggle it in DA2

I want my god-damned mini-map (hell i would love something transparent to overlay on the screen like the map in Diablo II as well (mini-map is nice to navigate greater distances, but for details a larger map is required and i don't want to have to stop running/riding in order to look at a map often!))
greetings LAX
ps: i don't get lost without it, but it makes things easier to find (it's a thing of convenience versus tediousness IMHO - and i hate things being tedious!)

I'm ok with a compass and access to a main map for outdoor areas but I definitely need a minimap for indoors. Spending my time wandering around the same half-dozen rooms doesn't do much for me.
Yeah I think this is pretty reasonable. Outdoors a compass is more organic-exploration-inclined while indoors a slowly revealed mini map based on where you've been makes a lot more sense.

PLZ bring us the mini map... i dont want people to laugh at me..but im bad with freaking compass in game, i played skyrim a bit and stoped because of the stupid compass... could never freaking find my way.... i like to know where my objective are... and the map feel right to me... but as others said.. its not a gamebreaker....
I never got through more than 8hrs of Oblivion because of the travel system and stupid compass

Also they are talking about adding a marker system to help us navigate and mark places to visit later.

Simplistic UIs always irked me for some reason. It gave the sense that the developers didn't care enough about the game which I know is false (devs care for their baby) but that's the vibe I get out of it.

You'd think this would go without saying, but no.Malanek999 wrote...
For massive outdoor areas, a minimap is not really that helpful.
Minimaps are great if your game is made up of small areas. DA:I is not a game made up of small areas.
