I see it as more of a creative interpretation. Of course it's nonsense, but the fact that Telltale developed such a storyline as to be interpreted in such a way that does indeed link together is quite impressive.
Though of course the analogy isn't what the game is really about.

He's not alive. The theory is he never survived the car crash to begin with, and his entire existence was simply a redemption of his crimes.
Which, again, is obviously not what Telltale wanted and obviously not what really is going on, but it's an artistic interpretation.
