Edit: More information and a video from IGN here:

http://au.ign.com/ar... High PR site:)

It sounds like a tactical fighting game without much story or lore.  100 characters/creatures to collect, and apparently more from Inquisition will be added later.

Hope it's not one of those gross trading card games.

Urgh...everytime I read about social gaming and mobile gaming I want to facepalm real hard.
It's not that those games are bad , but I don't understand how DA and that kind of things can go together.
Do people really enjoy all those features or am I getting old and cranky?

It looks like a 3D game created using Unity, possibly for mobiles.

If it could be something like Dragon Age Journeys but for mobile devices, I would be super interested. I still think the platform would lend itself really well to a simple turn-based RPG type of game. Like if they make an android port for FTL, hot damn.

But I doubt whatever mobile game they would be working on would be like that. What I'm thinking of aren't really "social games" as such. They just happen to be mobile. Meh.

The forum you linked on looks pretty old for me. There're threads posted in 2009, 2011 and 2012.

A little off topic but seriously NOT EVERYONE USES FACEBOOK! It shouldn't be a requirement for ANYTHING! Except for Facebook extensions.

Also a spinoff was kinda on the nose, we had Dragon Age Journeys prior to Origins, we had Legends prior to DA2. Tis to be expected really much like a new Call of Duty game, but I'm interested at least.

They try to push out of these social games each time a DA game comes out. I have no idea how well received they are but they usually get you in-game loot, so I play them for a few hours.

Don't even joke about it.

"Heroes of Dragon Age" is a combat-focused free-to-play mobile game:

Think I'll pass.

Ha! This would be fantastic, actually. Shut the fans up who are demanding closure every other week.

Also... I'd MUCH rather have a mobile app that satisfies DA:I's requirement of online functionality than Multiplayer. Not to mention that if it is anything like any of the ME mobile apps, its impact on the overall plot, story, lore and game will be so minimal as to be practically non-existent.

I see a Morrigan and a Varric, and possibly an Arishok, in the screen shots, but no one who immediately brings the Warden or Hawke to mind. ;)

Looks a bit like Final Fantasy Tactics.

Agreed. This is looking like a 3D button masher. Which is very difficult to do on a mobile app, since they don't have buttons. "Screen masher" just doesn't sound nearly as entertaining.

Is that Flemeth in dragon from in the party????

If it's free and works on Android I'm going to try it, but dude those graphics are bad. Galaxy on Fire 2 spoiled me.

They would have been smarter to make simple, stylized graphics rather than try and make detailed environments and models. Doing good graphics on mobile is a huge undertaking and ultimately doesn't compare at all with their PC and console counterparts.

Well, I for one hoping this qualifies as Inquisitions on-line component much like Legends was for DA2. Then we can drop the whole multiplayer argument.

Well the linked article did mention that players can "create a party filled with heroes, and critters from the Dragon Age lore" so that's cool, I guess.

LOL it's almost like a corrupt a wish thread: You can have online interactions AND play as non human(/elf/dwarf) creatures, BUT its a free to play app for your phone.<_<

I remember reading a rumor on Kotaku a while back about a possible multiplayer Dragon Age that would allow players to control dragons. I'm guessing this is what they were referring to?

From the Kotaku article:

'The multiplayer is supposedly an arena-based affair and features player versus environment (PvE) elements as well as player versus player (PvP), as well as humans fighting dragons. Details on what PvE battles entails are scant.'

Really, so they are retrying a social game. While the facebook game was fun at first, it did lose it's appeal over time.

EA always does this. Always. We'll probably get another tie-in anime too.

It's free to play, so I'll try it for sure. Maybe we'll even like it?

If it's free I might give it a try just to see what it's about. Looks kind of cute.
