 guys i was wondering. whenever i watch youtube vids most people dont ads when firing weapons. ive tesed this with snipers and it does less damage than ads ing and was wondering if it is like this for all weapons or just snipers

Just snipers.
Anyone who isn't doing that with snipers is a fool and should be eaten.

You should post this in the multi-player area for future reference. But like Ledgend I'll clarify for you.
Snipers are the only weapon to have a damage reduction.

Snipers in Multi-Player deal 50% less damage while hipfiring. (I am not sure if it is 50% or less/more).

Some Snipers I believe bypass this, don't quote me, but I believe any projectile based ones such as the Kishock bypass it.

Not even all SRs have hipfire penalty (Kishock does not for sure) and some other weapons are way better used from the hip, Striker has less recoil, Prianha is just spray&pray, Harrier has a weird bug and kicks worse when fired from cover, ....
So, yeah, depends much on weapon and playstyle.
