So...after seeing Ashley being captured by the collectors in the new vid on Gametrailers.com...any information regarding the human ME1 LI-aviability.

I can think of Keidan in the same situation, if he survived Virmire instead of Ashley.

Sad would be if they would be dead or mutated to inhumanity.
I wouldn't care if they started a new life(kids and wife/husband).

I just wanted to know if we get any information at the start of the game.

At least we work for a information-freak(TIM), so he should know about Ashley/Keidan.

Or is there the possibility that we stay devoted:wub: and end up standing in front of our HLI, while they hug their new love/kids:pinched:?

I'd like a clear info about getting HLI-info at the start of the game.

This kind of tears at me some case I am a male Paragon soldier shep, so It kind of annoy me over the idea of a Love angel saver idea when I REALLY don't need ash in my team from both a fighting angle.



I am the muscle of the group and Keidan actually was some very useful back up for me in my teams but it seems allot less.. Umm Epic to go off to save a good friend then it is to go save a lover.



Now if liara was captured as well that be epic, My shep digs the aliens.

The point of the LIs not being in ME2 is so they are still alive in ME3 and killing them off would serve only to annoy fans who didn't cheat.

Yeah, but that they would be in ME3 doesn't mean they are still in love with shep.

Liara, OK, she still searches for Shepard.

But Ashley/Keidan, our HLI's in ME1.



I think it would be really anoying if they end up being no LI anymore in ME3.



After all, Shepard was dead for 2 years, so it wouldn't be surprising, if our HLI's started a new relationship.



As a paragon, Shepard would save them, no matter if they are still the LI or just a char we know.



After all, since we don't know what the Collectors are up to, we could have the same situation like there was with Lara Croft and her Mom in Avalon(at least I think it was there).



I don't know in which form we will meet the HLI's in ME3, but I'd like to know, if they end up being related to someone else than shepard after 2 years, or if we may have a merry reunion in ME3.

But at least now we have a clue why they (I mean the LI's obviously) have a greater role in ME3. Well, at least I think it has something to do with this whole abduction

What about Liara? I doubt she gets abducted. I think she's still workin' for the Shadow Broker. It would be strange for there to be more for those who romanced Liara than for those who romanced a human, so I'm thinkin' Ashley either isn't captured or is rescued soon after. That or that abduction happens quite a bit later.

I'm going to feel irritated as Hell if I have to do my romances in ME2 with Ashley possibly in the Bug's hands.

This is what I'm thinking.  If you noticed, Ashley has her armor on and when the bug tries to bite her, she pulls it off and looks at it.  So, either they can't bite through armor(likely), or Ashley is the freakin' Juggernaut(unlikely).

I think Ash will be ok tho not an LI cuz I play Femshep, I still think she'll be around after ME2.



Ash/Kai had better not get bug napped.... I've got enough to worry about in ME2 as it is...

Being captured by the collectors is probably the best explanation for them not being recruitable...the only bad thing about it is that you won't be able to interact with them throughout the story.



A reunion at the end maybe...and interaction after the main quest would be nice. I have wondered if the game might open up a couple of quests after the main one was finished like Fable 2 did. To be able to continue the romance then might make up for it.



You never know...with all of Shep's upgrades it actually might be that the LI gets upgraded by the Collectors themselves without becoming a husk or one of the new enemies...since new abilites have been added. I just don't want to see a showdown between the old LI and Shep or for the LI to die. I know that they are supposed to appear in ME3 but I have trust issues...what can I say.

Trust issues here as well. I do not want a "Prey" or "Gears of War", so naturally I am a bit fearful that Bioware is simply lying to us about their "safety" so when they die, they can feel they were all "dramatic" instead of contrived.

just figured it out, LIs get abducted by collectors, we have to save them, which if they were our LIs would make us not want to cheat, because while were having naughty fun, their brains are being dissected.... Naughty naughty bioware guilt trips huh?



Well i dont necessarily know, but id be quite made if thats how its going to play out.

You honestly think Bioware would LIE?  I mean maybe if they said it offhandedly.  But they have repeatedly said it, they even used it as their excuse for not including the LI's in this game(as squad members).  I will be absolutely LIVID if they do that.

Doesn't matter, point is, they live so they can be in ME3, according to Casey and the devs.

We didn't actually see her get captured, so she could be alright.

So I'll take my untrusting pesimism. That way if they were telling the truth, then HAPPY!

 ;)Understand completely. I would rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed.  Agree with you on the Prey thing...didn't like that outcome in the least.

I certainly am.

Not to mention, the devs said if you cheated the decision would come back to haunt you in ME3, so unless the ME2 LI called them up and they were like "ZOMG NO THEY DID NOT BREAK UP WITH ME!" it couldn't result in any bad karma, and if they had moved on they wouldn't say this, because that would be ridiculous.  So unless they had a secret conversation with your love stricken interest shortly before they died, which I sincerely doubt, there is no way for it to come back to haunt you unless they are still a love interest and still alive.

Not sure but I think that's just a rumor...I don't think the Dev's have confirmed much of anything about whether you can interact with the old LI's or not. Would be nice though.
