Varric is hardly objective or even a completely reliable narrator. His interpretation of a woman he's only known for a few hours doesn't necessarily have to be accurate, and it certainly isn't a definitive statement on Cassandra's sexuality.

Agreed.
The scene in question is really no indication for anything. *shrug*

Well, that's strange. I've played it several times with male Hawke and several times with femHawke. She ALWAYS acts as I said above.

Are you on PC too?

I am on PC, fully updated to the latest patch, no mods of any kind. Cassandra has always, to my knowledge, used the "romantic" line. Varric then claims a case of hero worship and she waves it off as admiring Hawke for bringing herself up from nothing. But it certainly doesn't negate the hearts-in-eyes moment.

That was the moment i was thinking of.

In other words, Varric might have been assuming Cassandra was straight or he might have simply been teasing her. You know, in the 'I'm-gonna-pretend-I-don't-know-except-I-totally-do-and-you-probably-know-that-I-know-but-don't-want-to-give-yourself-away-in-case-I'm-just-pretending-to-know' way.

I just regarded everything to do with Hawke as being unreliable. While everything happening with Cassandra was outside of the story he was telling.

Do you think that Cole will be a companion? or more, a LI?

You could also say that Cullen love women only since the scenario mage he is "flirting" only by a mage woman.

No, I do not think Cullen is bi example. for Cassandra is more mysterious about her sexuality ... we know nothing about it so it must wait

I've never read any of the books, so I only know what others here have said.
Based on that knowledge, him being a companion might be in the cards, but him being a LI seems unlikely. I mean, he seems to be some kind of asexual ghost creature...?
And even if he is capable of feeling attraction, I imagine romance is the last thing on his mind when he doesn't even know what he is.

Yeah, that was the scene I was talking about. Though now that I look back on it, it really was just Varric being...well, Varric, so it may not have any indication of Cassandra's sexuality. My mistake.

I don't really know. I don't think Gaider would want to alienate those who haven't read the novels, but his arc really is too interesting to ignore. And there's all sorts of problems associated with someone who people forget about after meeting and who can turn invisible and all sorts of stuff. He'd be way overpowered as a companion. The only way I see it happening is if Cole gets de-powered, or manages to get some more control over his powers, or something.

Exactly my thoughts. I think being a companion is very possible but I don't see them making him a LI.

I seem to remember Gaider expressing displeasure for a romance with Cole (But I'm not sure).

I'm really curious about other companions, wish they'd tell us their names.

Hmm...maybe they could make him a very sneaky rogue? But yes, maybe a little decrease of his power is needed.

Most important thing. Make a "toggle mature content" button in the game menu. We don't want an awkward love-scene where the couple is wearing underwear during sex. It ruins the immersion. If you use some sort of parental control system you could even remove the dialogue that leads to a sex-scene. That would work.

Isn't Cole technically a demon? Or a spirit? Or was it deliberately left ambiguous? I cannot remember if we ever got a definitive clue as to what he is.

So is Cole some sort of ghost or possesed corpse or spirit or what?

Can someone explain what he is about?

It is kinda complicated. I would try to look him up on the DA Wiki. They could explain it pretty well.

Having just read Asunder recently, I can see the potential interest in Cole as a companion character, but the thought of having him as an LI leaves me cold. He has a very interesting arc but please, not another Anders. For the love of all that's good and holy.
