YES. Preferences.
That's why some people are straight, some are bi, some are gay. Not all are bi, or gay, or straight. Diversity

We were talking about people being the same if sexuality was different, not preferences. Nobody was saying that people don't have preferences.
My god, you don't even seem to understand so i'm stopping here. No point in arguing.

Sexuality and preferences are connected

Well, I never came here to argue :D i just expressed my opinion :3

There is no discussion happening here, Chari. You keep repeating your points, while others try to explain theirs, but there is no actual exchange.

So, pretty please, you've made your concerns clear now, could we move on?

"Fans want it" is not a point. "Why not?" is not a point. Characters comes first

Not me started it :3

No. You have just been calling people, who do not want romance content being restricted because of a binary choice at the character creator, lusty teenagers who's only prerogative for demanding such a thing is that they don't have enough ****** material.

Fanpandering is generally a tricky thing. Do it too much and it may ruin characterization. Do it not enough and fans will rampage like lil kids.
The story and the characters come first, fanservice - last

The romances tend to have nothing to do with characterization as it were.

Morrigan is the only one across both Dragon Age and Mass Effect to actually have their "romance" fit into the character arc at all. Maybe Alistair, too.

And personality stays the same. As i've said before, if i was straight i'd still be the same person. Even if now, being gay, happen to fancy a man (let's say) i'd still be the same person, personality wise. This is what i'm talking about.

Everything matters. From a choice of socks to preference in genders. A person is a complex concept. Adding or removing a trait just for the sake of fans is... sad, simply

Personality and sexuality is a result of backstory and culture, personal experience and beliefs. They don't exist in vacuum, they correspond to all the factors.

Have it your way.
If it makes you feel good to call others "lil kids", "lusty teenagers", wankers then I don't know what to tell you other than you're behaving like a kid who enjoys being offensive and trolling.
You've more than enough stated your opinion, not always in the most respectful way. Don't be proud of that.

I REALLY HOPE HE'S A COMPANION/LI
And finds some way to deal with his PTSD. He needs a good old therapy session, like Fenris had with Hawke to work out his issues. (you can make any thread into a cullen thread if you try hard enough)

Well Bioware has been doing it since Baldur's Gate II. Why's it a problem only now when it's people wanting them to do it to their benefit?

What? Me? Disrespectiful? i didn't notice calling names or insulting people X3
If people are so oversensetive that expressing a different opinion is considered to be an offense... well, that's not my problem ;D

You say that while already having an established personality. If you had ALWAYS been straight, then you might have become a completely different person than you are now. The same goes for if you had always been a different race, religion, gender, etc. than what you currently are.

BG romances were made not purely for fanservice but also because it helped to learn more about the characters, make them more alive and experience more exciting.
You know, there is difference between "Fans wants to romance everyone! Let's make an orgy with qunari and blackjack! And dragons! And desire demons!" and "Hey, I think fans will like that they can romance some of the characters. In appropriate amounts, of course. Like, I think X would definitely enjoy a company of an opposite sex H, Y would like both female and male H and Z would go only with the same gender H. Oh, and W is not romancable. They're just not into H H is ugly as **** in their opinion"

And if the great hero that saved the world sacrificed himself killing a Dragon, then that would have butterflied out a bit differently than if he lived and went on leading men.

But the games don't really care about that sort of rippling for world states, why do you for characters?

Good things nobodys talking about orgies with dragons and desire demons.

Yes, and Jaheira didn't really care about Khalid anyway. And Viconia and Sarevok had a hint of goodness in them all along just waiting to be turned.

Because we love complex, alive characters who feel like real people?
They don't have to be our ideals. Sometimes they're terrible, sometimes they're sweet. Sometimes we want to punch them in their face for being dicks, sometimes we want to hug them because they need us. And this is the magic of Bioware's characters

I fail to see how you can act like character sexuality is so much more breaking than world logic.

I prefer my worlds to feel cold and dead.
