Bat Soldier. Ballistic blades offer much better crowd control than carnage, and the extra speed comes in handy. The extra damage/shields you can get in principle from the krogan aren't actually worth that much because you are already above most of the important thresholds on gold.

BatSol is def better vs Geth than the Kroldier, BB crowd control >> armor melting capability.

Also, punching the heads off of Primes is fantastic.

Punching the heads off of anyone/anything is fantastic. Has anyone else ever killed a Praetorian with the Falcon Punch? Reduces the crab to just crab legs, its hilarious.

Krogan is more durable but not by much. Bat is more versatile.

I like them both.

I would have agreed with this before they put Bombers into the game... on wave 8-10 gold (especially wave 8) the Kroldier will outshine the BatSol slightly ... on earlier waves the the BatSol edges it.

But yeah, generally speaking the BatSol is marginally better than the Kroldier except vs Reapers; there's not much in it and a lot of it comes down to playstyle.

Fortification vs Blade Armour
Blade armour is slightly inferior (better for shield regen speed though) and Fortification can be specced for extra power damage (Inferno grenades / Carnage)

Ballistic Blades vs Carnage
Unless you're using incendiary ammo and detonating with Carnage for AoE stagger then BB wins, all day every day (if you are using incendiary/Carnage - BB still probably wins but by a much lesser margin). Especially against Phantoms and Dragoons who both become pretty laughable if you're a BatSol.

Inferno Grenades
Yup - they've both got 'em ... they're slightly better on the Kroldier though if you take power damge in Fortification (you can offset with equipment or weapons mods of course).

Melee
The BatSol wins on style and I'm far more likely to melee things with the BatSol than the Kroldier (because of the way I've got them specced) ... BUT the Krogan heavy melee is more useful as it allows you to close on an enemy whilst getting damage reduction and, if you toggle Fortification, gives a decent melee damage boost, doesn't take forever to wind up and can therefore be used as a relatively quick stagger/finish move.

Light melees - well, to be honest, weidling a shotgun they both goddamned cool... headbutt vs baseball bat bludgeoning with a shotgun!


In short - there's not much in it, they're both awesome but the Kroldier really shines vs Reapers and the BatSol really shines vs Cerberus.

if you spec the krosol right then you can get something like 5 times base melee damage. Just something I read on the interwebs so no need to take it as gospel.

Batsoldier by far. Ballistic blades kick Carnage's ass. He's faster. He has more survivability in a spawn. Better Passives.
