So there's been a lot of disscussion over where the INquisitor could be from, and in tern, how they will sound when they talk. Given that that the majority of the game will eb taking place in Ferelden and Orlais, it is possible that our PC may come from those two contries. Some people have stated that they disliked the french accents of the characters in the MOTA DLC, some were not bothered by it, and some were ok with some of the more authentic voice actors, such as Duke Prosper. At the same time many people have said they'd love to keep with the theme of all of the hero's coming from Ferelden, and some have said they'd prefer variety. Though it is entriely possible that where our PC comes from may not be the main setting of the game, such as with DA2 we spend maybe 10-20 minutes of the game in Ferelden.

This may not be completely accurate, or may change in the future, but from what we've see so far:

Kirkwall: English
Ferelden: English
Starkhaven: Assumed Scottish
Tervinter: English?
Anderfels: Assumed English (Ex: Anders and Misstress Woosley)
Revain: Assumed American (Ex: Duncan and Isabella)
Antiva: Spanish/Latin
Orlais: French
Nevarra: Russian/German
Dwarves: American
Dailish Elves: Welsh/Scotish/Irish
City Elves: Dependant on region of origin
Qunari: "No"/American

Where would you like to see the Inquisitor come from? What accent would you want them to have?

In terms of races, do you think bioware is going to either: make our elf a city elf by default, make them dailsh by deflaut, or go the extra mile to hire 4 different voice actors to give us the choice?

NOTE: Please keep all conversation respecful. ^_^

Kirkwall, Starkhaven or Orlais. I could live with Nevarra, but I do not want Fereldan.

I don't care about accents, since there won't be in my game... I could be whatever the hell they want, though, I'd love to be Orlesian, Fereldan again, or even Nevarran.

Coming from the free marches doesn't appeal to me at all...

I personally would love the French accent, so long as it was done with care. The voice actor for Duke Prosper was actually french, so it sounded fine. If not french, then I don't really care where as long as the voice acting was well done.... and not from ferelden. That would be w trend I wouldn't like to see continue, just for variety.

Starkhaven, Nevarra, or Orlais.. not Ferelden.

If the war/tension that's been hinted between Ferelden and Orlais has a role, than Starkhaven or Nevarra.

Nope. Every Kirkwall native had a British accent and the only people in Thedas up to now with American accents are Orzammar dwarves(and dwarves of Orzammar descent) and Qunari.

EDIT: Some elves have American accents as well. Forgot about that. Not all elves have American accents though.

Because Merrills speaks for all elves, right?

Seriously, listen to the normal elves in DAO and city elves in DA2. They all have american accents.

Edit: Besides, even Merrill had an american accent in DAO so there's that.

But read what you wrote.

"Elves, Dwarves and Kossith have american accent regardless of what part of thedas they're from. "

You said Elves have American accents no matter where they're from. That's not true. We've heard elves with British, Welsh and American accents.

No, but you did "regardless of what part of Thedas they're from."

Anything but Orlesian would be okay. While it would be great to play something other than a Fereldan again, I would love to have the voice actress who did Mhairi, Cautherian, and Sam Traynor(ME3) to do the female inquisitors voice.

This.

If you wrote "some Elves" it would fix the problem.

It still lists American as a Kirkwall accent. No Kirkwall natives have an American accent.

Meh, I already edited it out before I got called out on that but this still holds true for DAO (except Anora's maid, which Wulfram mentioned and Zevran) but when I said part of thedas, I meant the countries like Fereldan, Tevinter, Kirkwall and the Antivan Crow in Zevran's dream also had american accent. The Dalish elves aren't part of any country. And really, it's not "some" but really the "majority" of elves showed in the game.
