Anything but Orlesian would be okay. While it would be great to play something other than a Fereldan again, I would love to have the voice actress who did Mhairi, Cautherian, and Sam Traynor(ME3) to do the female inquisitors voice.

(I agree)

And yes, the vast majority of city elves have American accents. Orlesian elves have French accents as we saw with Erlina, but Dalish elves now have Irish and Welsh accents, which seems to differ from clan to clan, (most likely made up almost exclusively of Irish accents actually, I don't imagine the sexiest accent known to Man (Welsh) is very much high in demand).

Oh and as much as I LOVE Alix Wilton Regan's voice, I think the Orlesian accent is the way forward, if you want to stick to the accent lore,

I'm hoping for a Dalish accent (still hopeful that at least the elf mage inquisiter will be a Dalish).

For a Human Inquisiter, I would want a subtle Orlesian accent.

I think a Nevarran accent would be interesting. Failing that, I'd prefer Fereldan.

An Orlesian accent is fine as long as they don't exaggerate the crap out of it.

Thanks for pointing that out. I updated the thread! ;)

It still lists American as a Kirkwall accent. No Kirkwall natives have an American accent.

I've been looking through a bunch of walkthrough vids just to confirm, and you're right. I updated the thread.

Oh dear, I hope the human Inquisitor doesn't have an Orlesian accent. I won't be able to take my character seriously.

In that case, I'll just roll as a strappy dwarf instead.

The Inquisitor should have an Orlesian accent, no matter what race he/she is.

Didn't they say the PC will only have the two VAs?

I'd like a Nevvaran or Kirkwall voice. I've always liked Russian accents the most.

Nevarra.

For the love of the Maker, let's be done with Ferelden before they become a nation of special snowflakes.

Fixed again.

P.S.(Except for Dwarves, or if a Ferelden/Orlesian war/conflict is one of the side plots, in which case in my opinion a neutral accent like Nevarran should be used.)

Sorry to tell you this, but Ferelden already is a country of special snowflakes. Andraste is from Ferelden, Alistair who has dragon's blood is from Ferelden, Maric was from Ferelden. Protagonists and many other badasses like Morrigan are from Ferelden. :)

As long as the vocabulary and spelling in the subtitles match the spoken variant, I'm all happy.

Seriously. It is annoying to hear people speaking with a British accent and then have Americanized spelling in the subtitles. Drives an ESL speaker like me crazy.

Might seem trivial, but it really. Annoys. Me.

The worst thing for me is when someone with a British accent says "ass". Like nails on a chalk board. I believe Aveline was one of the few who had the decency to say "arse", that made me happy.

If Starkhaven is Scottish then that. If there turns out to be an Irish accent then even better.

I might want a "Native American" accent but I'd hate to see it because the Dalish ain't close to Native American anymore and I feel it would be terribly offensive. Even to me. And I asked for it. ^_^

Starkhaven's mixed in my books. Sebastian certainly had a Scottish accent, but everyone else who claimed to have come from Starkhaven had a regular English accent.
And the entire Sabrae clan, (apart from Merrill), was Irish in DA2.

Really? I thought they were Welsh. But it's been quite a long time since I played DA2. Huh, cool. Then those Irish Elves. ^_^

Starkhaven.

Think about it. Scottish accents work with any race, and Welsh is similar to those who aren't that familiar with the accent or language.

David Faustino, Steve Blum, Kyle Hebert, or Johnny Yong Bosch for male Inquisitor.

I want to sound like a subtle bada**.

Genetivi and Viveka both have American accents but I think they are the only exceptions among the humans.

So far as I can tell, the Sabrae Clan are played by Welsh, Irish and Scottish actors so I think we hear all of those accents in the Dalish. Plus American for former City Elves like Pol.
