Genetivi and Viveka both have American accents but I think they are the only exceptions among the humans.

So far as I can tell, the Sabrae Clan are played by Welsh, Irish and Scottish actors so I think we hear all of those accents in the Dalish. Plus American for former City Elves like Pol.

There were many people from other places in Thedas that wound up in Kirkwall, so those characters could easily been from somewhere else.

Kirkwall: American

... what? Only dwarves and Qunari have American accents. Everyone from Kirkwall had a British accent.

Some of them had american accents I thought.

Elves, Dwarves and Kossith have american accent regardless of what part of thedas they're from.

Tell me, what part of America was Merrill from?

Hmmm I remember an old documentary that showed various English speaking groups in the USA. Example a small fishing village settled by Scots, they still had light Scottish accents, areas that were populated by French same thing etc etc. Also as a non American, I find that your country seem to have more then one accent type... almost as if it were regional based, bit like Thedas.

As for the game... I'm not from any of these groups, but I would love a character with a: Scottish, English or French accent. French seems likely with the setting and I'm fine with that.

People don't come from the fade. Demons and Spirits do.

Robin Williams would make a great voice actor. He can do any voice (as we see in Mrs. Doubtfire) and can do almost any accent.

But what if our Inquisitor is some weirdo whose parents were stranded in the Fade, where he was born and then escaped with the help of a benevolent spirit of Plot Cancer. And if there is a Fade mission, it'll involve looking for Inquisitor's parents and his newborn brothers and sisters. And it'll turn out that the spirit of Plot Cancer helped the protagonist escape because it new how powerful we'd become, so it drove us out to make it safer to kill Inquisitor's parents and possess our little siblings we've never seen before. Plot Cancer!

The voice wont have an accent most likely. A dwarf sounding Orlesian would be absurd and I doubt they'll give you multiple options to choose from.

I am Italian and I found Zevran's accent very funny... sounds like an Italian guy speaking English with a really bad pronunciation... I wouldn't mind playing an Inquisitor from Antiva :)

I'd enjoy a Scottish voice. It's just different than what you normally hear. Although it needs to be "English" Scottish in the sense that I need to understand what the **** is being said.

Every voice has an accent.

I'm curious to know if Bioware will only have one set male and female voice for our inquisitors regardless of the race.
Or if we will be lucky enough to get say a Welsh accent for our elves, British/Amer./French for our humans, and American for our dwarves. It would be difficult no doubt and relatively expensive but with the extra year maybe it could be considered. It would add to the authenticity of the game seeing as in DA2 the elves, in particular, underwent physical and vocal change in comparison to DAO.

It'll either be British or North American. I really doubt we'll get another accent.

I'm perfectly fine with the french accents. French is my second language, so I suppose I'm use to using hearing it more.

I'm hoping for our character to come from Starkhaven, but as long as the voice actor is good, I'm fine with anything. Except Ferelden. It would be silly if all the "heroes" of Thedas were from Ferelden.

Canada is my country. And I see your point, but you'd be hard pressed to find someone native to the U.S that sounds like Merrill.

To be honest, I think, that sums up the attitude of the majority of players. So my guess is, we will get somebody from either Ferelden, Kirkwall or the Free Marches (or at least someone who grew up there).

If I could really choose, I would love somebody from Nevarra. I liked Cassandra's accent (and also I'm German... ;))

We need a better class of VA. We need Batman. Or Kevin Conroy, whoever is available.

Hmm, for a human inquisitor, anything that isn't an Orlesian accent, if I want a French accent I'll go watch Cat Face or something.

Elf wise I want at least the option of being Dalish, not sure if they even intend to stick with the Irish/Welsh accent though, I have to admit I did like it.

Aditionally, they could get away with 1 male and 1 female VA for Hawke, won't work here, they'd need at least 6, 3 male, 3 female, even more if they both intend to offer a Dalish option and intend to stick with the accent they have.

The Elves should sound either Northern Irish or Welsh.

They are two different countries you know.

The real question is if the different races will have different voice actors. It would be a nice touch but I seriously doubt it, we'll probably have a single voice for all three.

I'm really excited at the prospect of a voiced Elf PC. Combining the race selection I loved in Origins with the voiced protagonist I enjoyed Dragon Age 2.
