The Elves should sound either Northern Irish or Welsh.

They are two different countries you know.

Ideally they should make it depend on the clan.

Merrill was traded to the clan that we meet her in because they needed the keeper to have a first.

Anything but Orlesian would be okay. While it would be great to play something other than a Fereldan again, I would love to have the voice actress who did Mhairi, Cautherian, and Sam Traynor(ME3) to do the female inquisitors voice.

Man if the Inquisitor had Traynor's voice I'd never play a male warden again.

I'd just say stick with British, if they do a French accent it's going to sound bad and obviously fake.

Although if they actually put effort into it and hire a real Frenchman as a VA it might be good.

But if not, if we're going to be Orlesian than let's have the same French accent Picard had.

I don't know. Apparently Leliana's voice actress is French, but I always thought her accent sounded fake. Of course that could just be my ignorance, but I imagine if we spend time in Orlais we won't be seeing many (if any) Gaspard DuSomethingFrench type characters.

The problem with this statement is that so many claim that the accent is "fake" when it actually isn't. I'm not directing this at you personally, I'm just making a general observation.

This is why they should stick to the English accent. It's safe, familiar, and even if its fake people really don't give a toss because few people outside the UK can really differentiate a scouser from a cockney, it's all just "lol british" to them.

Nevarra has a vaguely Spanish vibe IMO, as does Cassandra.

People from the Anderfels have a German accent.

Anywhere, But Ferelden. Dragon Age shouldn't be about the special little Fereldans always saving the day; Thedas is a big world, let someone else have the spotlight. Kirkwall, Starkhaven, or Orlais might be interesting, depending on the VAs.

An orlesian accent would be awesome but I don't think Bioware would have the guts to do it.

As a Brit myself, I'd much rather have a British accent (and ideally English) than an American one - it would make the most sense as a 'generic' one also - Dwarves and City Elves may have American accents as standard but they are more likely to pick-up a 'Fereldan accent' than a human being it to pick-up a City-Elf or Dwarf accent.

Would be nice if it's people outside the usual range of voice actors (Nolan North/Mark Meer/Troy Baker/Roger Craig Smith/Yuri Lowenthall etc.) but to be fair most of them do a good job.

Single countries can have different accents.

Lets be realistic, there will only be one female voice and one male voice for the PC. Having multiple voice actors for the same role to be voiced throughout the game would simply be too time consuming and too much work.

I really hope the female voice isnt very shepardish. I loved that for Shepard but not an elven PC that deals in manipulation or roguish stuff. Or for me at least that doesn't doesn't Sound like it'd go together very well. Hopefully the voice actor has a neutral sounding voice and depending on the tone or character you want to play as, it slightly changes.

I would really like the Inquisitor to be Orlesian, but if the Inquisitor has an English accent I really hope he/she is from the Free Marches or the Tevinter Imperium.

They did it in SWTOR, 2 factions, 8 classes, 16 different voice actors, including VA's like Jennifer Hale and I think FemHawke's VA as well.

I know, it's an MMO, but still, it CAN be done, Bioware just needs to weigh if such a thing is worth it in DA:I as well.

Whoever the VA is, I hope Bioware makes them put more emotion into the lines then Meer did for MShep.

That is one of the big reasons I rarely play as a male PC when given the choice. I think the male VAs are supposed to sound typically masculine, and apparently being emotional in any way shape or form is not considered to be very masculine.

I thought Meer did a great job sounding level. If you hear his other work, it's very clear he got direction from the voice director to keep it level.

I find Meer works much better for paragades as a result, because he doesn't switch between extremes in his personality like Hale does (who has much more colour in either Shepard, but makes them distinct personalities as a result).

But ME aside, do you think that Bolton was unemotive in DA2? Because I thought his sarcastic Hawke was just phenomenal.

My problem with Bolton is that, as a City Elf in Origins (played that origin so many times!), he also played Vaughn. So when he spoke, I just saw Vaughn, and I could barely get past Lothering with him. But I have seen clips of his dialogue later on and it is a lot more emotive than most male protagonists I've seen. So I don't know it well, but I do know it's better than most, (shame about Vaughn, though it is to his credit he was memorable to me).

An American accent? You mean like Larry the Cable Guy...or perhaps a New York accent...or maybe a surfer dude accent...or an Boston accent where Mark sounds like "Mahk"...or the multitude of different accents heard throughout the country? I never reaized that there was actually an American accent...guess I learn something new every day.
