So it's okay for one measly mage to raze a village of 100 people because they are not heavily armed and or trained. Right, got it.

I guess so

Who said thats ok but accidents are happens you don't have right to hurt mage as they don't have right to hurt you thas same as weaker aliens whp outnumber humans starts capture humans and making them prisoners on this rules.

By that logic guns shouldn't be regulated because "accidents" happen.<_<

lol so now you compare peoples to gun nice you have influence on that and that cost nothing no one suffers when you do that. When they put you in towher ruled by fanatics who hate you and you word mean nothing is hurts you.

Mages can kill people with there minds. Of course it's a solid comparison. Even biotics in ME are regulated.

Actually mages are worse you see guns can't whether by acident or intent harm others on their own.

eee nice maybe they can kill you blinking
nice very nice but still they are destroyed by bunch of templars
despite they have power who can destroy world when they sneeze.

Those templar are trian to combat and resist magic. Mages are far from helpless.

Whow but what with their death laser which can destroy single planet or creating volcano with staring at rock oh it seems that templars can't stop power of deadly mage mind blinking what kills peoples.:)

So you forget that templars can turn magic off?

But not one Templar does this DA:2 or did they forget on how to do it? Meredith is the only that seems to just drain mana from a mage not their magic but why does she do it to a warrior and rogue or can't she tell the difference between them classes? Maybe because she thinks they are all mages too. It is seen how magic is turned off in DA:O but is forgotten in DA:2.

One does during the huge brawl near the end of DA2.

Meredith also does it to a qunari mage.

But they did it very poorly. The Arishok in the trailer was capable of sending a wave of Dispell which forced TrailerHawke to resort to blood magic.
The templars have shields so, why not form a shield wall and all use Dispell at once? Then, it's all a matter of pushing foward. Charging at random and picking mages one by one doesn't sound very effective.

And why are the mages just standing around at the entrance, waiting for the templars to arrive? Use ice to fortify the door? Lay some Glyphs of Paralysis and Weakness as traps? Stand on high ground and rain fire upon the enemy?
Anything but try to take on templars at close range.

I know that and so does the warrior champion too. I am talking about the templars disabling my mage from using any  their magicical talents.

No they don't. Only Templars have the ability to disrupte magic.

That is what they are trained to do.

A reason why mages use bloodmagic is that it is harder to/cannot be disrupted. So maybe all the mges in DA2 were using bloodmagic.

But Meredith is the only that knows how to use it in DA:2.<_<:innocent:

I never said otherwise but the claims of templar supporters then abominations can destroy entire cities is simply not true. its simply chantry propaganda.

Just make anders bomb, and plant it in multiple parts of town.

And there you go, an entire town destroyed. It must not have taken much energy to even activate, since anders was perfectly able to fight immediately after.

It takes who-knows-how-long to prepare, though.

We've yet to see any mage rain hellfire on a city at a whim, as Templars and their supporters are wont to claim. The examples we've seen of the worst mage abuses all required at least one of the following:

a) extensive time to prepare/experiment

B) secrecy

c) access to rare artefacts and materials

d) multiple mages working together

So yes, the threat mages present is more than a little overblown.

Every though it actually is true that an abomination can destroy an entire city

Except for that one time an untrained abomination raised the dead and slowly destroyed a village. :D

Slowly being the keyword. Hardly a "walking nuclear bomb" as people say.

So you agree that mages are still dangerous then?

Considering the amusement the demons enjoyed and the lack of strength of the villagers (they'll lose even if you do set up firetraps and convince additional people to fight and then leave), it is entirely possible that the village was slowly destroyed due to amusement. ~_^

Um, duh? I never denied that.

I believe that the danger they represent is exaggerated by the Chantry (and by posters on this forum), and regardless of the danger they represent, I don't support pre-emptively imprisoning anyone for things they might do.

Except its not exaggerated at all. And shown several times in the games why unregulated magic is dangerous.

Okay, sure, maybe.

I don't understand how that's relevant to what I just said, or what you just said before that.

I've played the games multiple times, and I say it's exaggerated. You want to talk about what a mage can do if they have infinite time, accomplices and specialized resources. That's not an accurate representation of the day-to-day threat a lone mage poses to society.

And where did I ever say that magic should be unregulated?

No one said they were walking nuclear bombs.
