Opps... I guess I answered my own question. I changed the resolution and lowered the graphic settings and then had no trouble getting to the Conduit. Who knew?

I know this thread is 4 months old; sorry to rehash dead threads, but the problem on my game isn't so much not making the timer. My problem is getting shot to pieces before I get there. I have made it as far as the bottom of the conduit ramp, though, so at least that's close. I have lowered my graphics and all that. Like I said, it doesn't seem to be a time issue but a soft-skin mako issue. Any thoughts?

Are you shields at 100% maximum once you start the run? A completely straight shot, no swerving, no stopping to fire, just pedal to the metal until you hit the Conduit should work.

I am at full shields. I just keep getting pounded. I'm probably doing something wrong; that, or I'm falling victim to that whole lag thing I keep reading about (but am not noticing). I've tried several times heading straight for the portal, but I never make it. My Mako just keeps getting busted up.

Edit: i double-checked to make sure time wasn't the issue.  I am consistently dying toward the end of the water near the bottom of the ramp leading to the conduit.  In all, I usually have from 8-15 seconds left at that point.

Is there anything particular I should be doing as I'm driving?  I've tried the zig-zag thing; I've tried the straight-on approach.  I'm not shooting anything whatsoever.

Hmm. I'm at a loss then. Maybe try jumping the Mako a few times while you're aiming straight-on for the Conduit? I've never had the problem, so I don't even know what possible bugs you might be experiencing.

To be honest, on Insanity, I had to weave constant snake-like "S" maneuvers to reach the conduit intact.

Just keep one eye on the time and the other on the primary Colossus attacks, the rest shouldn't be too much to worry about.

One other thing you can try is instead of driving straight for the Conduit, drive OVER the Colossi on one side of the room on your way there. Doing so will slow you down a little, but it takes the Colossi about 4 or 5 seconds to get back up to their feet after being knocked over, and during this time they won't be firing at you. Just remember to dodge their big energy blasts as you drive towards them, however!

On insanity difficulty you have to bunny hop to throw off the Colossi' aim.
