Well, in the Dev Diary shown at gamescom, it is mentioned that the inquisitor can send out agents to do... stuff. Like missions or something. While they were saying this, a picture of Morrigan was showed.
So, could Morrigan be an "Agent" of the Inquisition? Not a party member, only agent. Or maybe not, if agents are always party members, I dunno. What do you think?

Also, at the exact moment when they show her, Mike Laidlaw is actually saying "instead of you being the agent of someone else" - so I don't think we should jump to the conclusion that Morrigan might be working for us.

Judging by this image, I think she might be working for the Empress.

One of DA:O's epilogue slides. Seems quite legit.

I doubt it, somehow. If anything, we'll be doing her dirty work at some point.

Good points. I had entirely forgotten about that bit from the epilogue too.
Now I think that Bioware put that picture there to trick overexcited fanboys like yours truly into making speculation threads about her. It's a conspiracy!!

Quite possibly.
I am pretty sure it was a tease.

Actually, they showed it while they mentioned something along the lines of 'rather than you being an agent of someone else'. If anything, it implies that Morrigan has her own agenda and hopes to influence/manipulate us towards helping her accomplish it. Which you would expect anyway, because it's Morrigan.

Morrigan....... following orders? Hah, I can just see all the "Morrigan disapproves" and snarky remarks coming from her.

I think she's a potential ally. But Morrigan is her own woman, she has her own goals and motivations, and is also a single mum in many games. Being an agent of the Inquisition will just get in the way of these.

Morrigan doesn't follow orders because someone makes her to. She follows them because she might use that information to reach whatever she wants. After all, she followed the Warden all over Ferelden just for that ritual.
I see her role in Inquisition playing more out like Varys (from GoT). She knows information, she weights it and sees who's allowed to hear what (and what not) and ultimately what the benefit will be for her own plan.

I don't really think Morrigan is the order taking type. Unless she has an ulterior motivation ofc. Imagine giving Morrigan a fetch quest that won't somehow benefit her. The mental picture is hilarious.

No, she can't. Next question.

I highly doubt it as some others said before I have the feeling she will just manipulate you for her purposes,I'm curious to see if the player will be able to prevent that
As for agents personally I have a feeling that agents is where the Multiplayer part comes in

I think she will be more of a partner to The Inquisition or maybe the representative of Empress thought she shall probably be manipulating everyone.

I think Morrigan is more likely to act in an advisory capacity. We'd be going to her for information, similar to how heroes of the past have spoken to Flemeth.

Agreed.
If Morrigan is 'following orders' it is only because the person giving the orders is furthering Morrigan's goals, whether or not that person realizes it. It was no different with the Warden.

Not only that, the Morrigan I know would never subject herself to a dress and a corset.krul2k wrote...

She won't be taking a player's orders.
She will give advice though.
