We have not had a proper tevinter perspective/companion yet and it would be cool to get a better idea of their point of veiw.

I really want an ambitious Tevinter mage inspired by Machiavelli's the prince.

Wasn't there supposed to be some bald elf guy?
I think he's the only guy in the war room concept art we've seen in other places (outside the leak) and isn't a confirmed companion.
I am 90% sure he is a companion.

Just my speculation, but that war room concept art + Gaider's comments give the vibe that Cullen might be an ally/agent leading a faction of the divided templars maybe, but not a companion. Hell, maybe even "Grey Warden" too, as much as I'd love either (or both) of them as a
LIscompanions.

David Gaider did say that the fans may not like the direction they're going with Cullen. It may mean that Cullen is an agent instead. I would be so disappointed...
Somehow, that sounds even worse.Eveangaline wrote...

Or just that he isn't romanceable.

Cassandra can change between the two types, so I would assume that most companions wouldn't be restricted to specific type of weapons like in DA2. If we can freely spec them, then the number of companions based on class wouldn't matter unless they follow the 3 3 3 formula which spread out the class evenly. They never did that.Walter Black wrote...
Personally, I never understood why so many wanted Cullen as a companion. I don't dislike the character, but most of his character traits have already been explored:
Blond, boyishly good looking Templar who's shy with women? Alistair.
Brooding warrior who hates mages because all the abuse he's suffered at their hands? Fenris.
Platonic, vitriolic best buds Templar? Carver.
Sure, you could have Cullen as a Companion who distills the best of all those qualities, but at this point it just seems like window dressing to me.
From a gameplay standpoint, we already have Cassandra and/or the Grey Warden as our sword and board warrior, and possibly Iron Ox as the 2 handed damage dealer, so there's not much left for Cullen as a party member, strategy wise. I will concede that it's still possible for him to be a non-Companion romance, like Steve Cortez or Samantha Traynor.

Cassandra was shown with both sword and shield and 2-handed sword.thats1evildude wrote...

Assuming that IS Cullen and that this concept art is reflective of the final product ...
I just bring it up as a possibility. I myself have wondered what place Cullen could have as a companion if Cassandra is serving as a sword and shield warrior and the Iron Bull as a possible two-handed warrior.
For balance purposes true, but I don't count the siblings because they don't get to use them most of the game, so it's pointless from a gameplay perspective. Without them, it's 3 rogues, 2 warriors, and 2 mages.Vapaä wrote...

They did, DA2 basic roaster was 2 2 2, and if you count Seb and the twins it's 3 3 3
9 companions is just too convinient, and it's the best for balance purposes
