Regarding this Agent thing, it seemed to me that Agents are just groups of un-named people that are stationed somewhere in order to make something happen. That's what I got from the screenshots at PAX, anyway. Like sending 10 agents to cap a toxic gas down in a valley so that it could be safely explored. It's almost like war assets from ME3.

He could very well be an important NPC like Morrigan and Leliana

Cassandra can change between the two types, so I would assume that most companions wouldn't be restricted to specific type of weapons like in DA2.

Yes, we can change companions' weapon styles within their class - so warriors can be two-handed or sword-and-shield. They're still investigating whether to let them use styles outside their class (so archery or dual-wielding, say, for warriors) but at least it gives players more room to customise party roles.

The only question mark was over Varric and the possibility of locking him into using only Bianca.

David Gaider did say that the fans may not like the direction they're going with Cullen. It may mean that Cullen is an agent instead. I would be so disappointed...

Well, if nothing else, Dagna's back! I wonder what her stake in the Templar-Mage War is, especially if she helped create that non-Chantry Orzimmar CirclePosted Image.

Given how many times Bianca jammed in the comics, Varric damn well better have invested in fisticuff and murderknife trainingPosted Image.

I remember there is the card system, so it could also indicate leaders we can assign. At this point, we can only speculate about how agents will be implemented. I just hope that it is as you said in which agents are nameless people.

I could never get him to unlock chests. Or doors. Even though I had him trained to do it. I was so mad, because I didn't want to recruit Isabella. Maybe I was training the wrong skillset...

You had to put cunning points to unlock more difficult locks and door.

You need more cunning depending on the chest you want to open.

I was putting points into dexterity and cunning for him. I was thinking he was just like, "Nah, I'm too good for that. I have a crossbow. Boom."

You probably didn't put enough points. Every level of difficulty for picklocking is based on a 10 multiplier. The most difficult locks requires either 40 or 50 cunning.
Or maybe you encountered a bug.

Cunning help with damage with rogues via critical damage. Not investing in it hurts his damages out put. Rogues are best with cunning at least at 30 in DA2. I got his cunning to 40+.

** this has been edited after it was quoted below **

From Dgaider's tumblr about this image

"I think my favorite thing about it is how it completely captures the personalities of the characters involved, without any words being required. When Luke saw this (the writer for the blonde elf in the middle), I believe he did his customary smirk and just said, “Yup.”"

Given that we've also seen her/a similar character in other concept art, in the leaked survey and possibly in some gameplay footage, I think she is a companion.

Haven't we also seen Grizzly Warden in other concept art, in the leaked survey and possibly in some gameplay footage?

At this point in time I think the roster will look like:

Cass (confirmed) - warrior
Vivienne (confirmed) - mage
Varric (confirmed) - rogue
Blond elf girl (very likely/unofficially confimed?) - rogue. "Sera" or whoever that concept has now become. May or may not be the same character as the dark-haired/mohawk elf we've also seen in a few concepts. An aside: So far she reminds me of what you would get if you mushed Isa and Zevran together (this is not a bad thing as far as I am concerned).
Grizzly Warden (very likely) - warrior. An aside: He kind of reminds me of one of the original ideas for Alistair actually, which had him as an older rugged/experienced Warden I think.
Iron Bull (likely) - warrior. Seen in multiple concept art images, present in the leaked survey, seen in the trailer/in screenshots on the website etc. Despite the screenshots/trailer presence (which I take as indication that he will definitely be in the game as a character) still have him as "likely" rather than "very likely" for party member specifically, because for Blond Elf and Grizzly Warden we have seen what looks like them in gameplay as party members.
Baldy McSmugs (likely) - mage (bald elf guy). "Dorian" or whoever that concept has now become. Seen in multiple concept art images
[???] Cullen??? warrior <- wild speculation
[???] Cole??? rogue <- wild speculation

Based on this roster my current conclusion is that Cullen probably will not be a party member because there are already three warriors (yes I know that previous parties have not had the same numbers of each class).. that said he was in the leaked survey and is in some concept art, some of which seems to be him in a party-member context.. maybe it'll be 4-3-2 (warrior-rogue-mage), making the final two cullen and cole maybe?? ooo who knows  :wizard:

^ only my own speculation obviously
oooo speculating is so much fun~

if this is the roster (I'll be floored if it is, chances are it's completely wrong in a lot of places!) my go-to team will probably be Baldy McSmugs, Blond Elf Girl and Cole, regardless of the race/class of my inquisitor (race qunari or elf, class ???).

I think the one that you're calling Baldy McSmugs in that picture is actually the Inquisitor.

I think Baldy McSmugs is the bald elf in robes who is in two concept arts (maybe, could be two different bald elves) and isn't the Inquisitor.

Yeah the guy with the hood in the picture I linked I think is the Inquisitor, Baldy McSmugs is the bald/semi-bald mage-looking elf that we've seen in some concept art pictures.

I would be surprised if most of the people in the concept art are companions seeing as how the majority of the characters in DA2's concept art were not in any form featured in the game.

The blonde elf appears to be making a joke about fisting.

I might be in love.

I think Bald elf guy is probably an apostate mage. And a companion.
He's dressed like those guys in the "Apostate "artwork.
Lots of brown color , fur and looks a bit "poor" .

So I guess ...
Warrior :Cassandra/Grey Warden /Iron Bull.
Rogue : Sera/Varric/( Cole ?)
Mage :Vivienne/Bald guy /Moustache guy (I think he's a mage)

With Cullen there's just too much warrior for my taste .
And to be honest not enough women companions :s.

I hate to say this, but if they said that Varric was romanceable, along with the Grey Warden guy, I'd be okay with Cullen not being a companion. I know he's in the game, because of Greg Ellis's tweet, but I don't know to what capacity. Varric is a confirmed party member, and GW guy has been shown in gameplay footage along with blonde elf girl Sera, so I think they are unofficially confirmed party members.

I would be very, very surprised if the Grey Warden were romancable. From what I think were dev tweets related to him about a year ago, I think he's a grandfatherly-advice character.

It's hard to tell what role Cullen will play, yeah, there's enough space for him to fit into the companion roster (particularly if other companions that we're assumnig are in the game have been cut) but he could just as easily be a major NPC.

At least the Grey Warden seems to be a companion. There is a lot of concept art of him. The other companions are a better kept secret...

The last one is quite interesting. Notice the two dead quards on the left and the prisoner with the cut noose around the neck? And the Grey Warden just walking away, ripping the amulet of his neck like "F*** this s***!"
