Thank you! Interesting picture. That place should be under water, should´t it? There is even a sunken boat and lots of trash sticking in the ...drains(?)...

I also think we can see moustache guy with the female qunisitor in one of the pic ,the one with the statue and a bit of fog.

And in the chains concept art ;

Posted Image

This guy is just intriguing , it's the mustache thing.

I don't think that's moustache guy. If anything it looks like the guy in the front here

Posted Image

In fact the clothing looks very similar.

I was thinking that it might be the bald elf guy wearing a hood- but I think I can see bald elf in the chains concept art alongside this guy. Perhaps this is a third mage companion? Maybe Dorian. Which would mean that blad elf guy is someone else- either a dalish or, more likely, an apostate mage since he has no tattoo's.

But then why would standard apostate mage be in the war room concept? You'd think he'd have to be more important than that...

In the chain image, I think the bald elf guy looks like the one on the far right with partial red clothing? And the mustache guy is the one in white, kinda looking like Ezio from Assassins Creed from behind. (middle one).
Regardless, the bald elf must be a companion, since he has been in like...4 pictures or something. With the Inquisitoner as well.

Is the woman with short black hair Cassandra in the blond elf girl punching her drink on the table? (with the bald elf at the front)

@Friera: I'd like the guy in the foreground to be the "bald" elf (quotes used because he has the sexiest black ponytail in Matt Rhodes's "War Room" painting). I just like the idea of a male elf - especially an elven mage - who's chill, laid back, and relaxed.

I'm fairly sure that's Cassandra. The seeker-symbol shoulders would imply so. I honestly have no idea who the guy at the front is. First I thought it was the Inquisitor, then I thought it might be the bald elf because some of the facial features were similar but now I've realised that he looks like the man in the female Qunari Inquisitor and chains concept art people were saying was moustache guy.

It might be. I assumed it was orginally, as most people did, but there's no way of knowing. I was just saying that he looked more similar to the images people were claiming to be moustache guy than moustache guy.

I'd say he's more likely to be a companion than the Inquisitor. I don't see any inquisition symbols on him or his clothing, and the pipe and pose imply a lot of personality. The Inquisitor concepts tend to be a bit more blank-slate-y from what I've seen.

I KNOW! I was looking for that sexy ponytail. Because the rest of the character seems so awesome, laidback and chill, as you said. PLEASE add sexy ponytail...and make him romanceable. Pretty please BW? :)

I dont think it looks like neither mustacheguy or the bald-elf. The sword itself says its not bald elf.

It does look a bit like this person in the chains concept art though.

Neither of them look like moustache guy or bald elf in my opinion, but the armor looks very similar the armor being worn by the guy in the front of the tavern picture, down to the leather gloves and the wide cloth belt, just a different colour.

Maybe it's using a standard armour concept for multiple background/concept charcters, but with other noticeable trends like bald elf's fur docoration on his robe and Cassandra's seeker armour I get the impression that comapnions unique looks are being explored in concept art.

If Dorian is the elf, some of his physical attributes might have been taken from Sera's early concepts from around DA2. Sera used to have dark hair with a mohawk thing going on and a braid. Now she has longer, blonde hair maybe with micro-fringe. The leaked survey art of Dorian was human, but he had sort of a mohawk going on. Then in the warroom concept art, if he -is- Mr. Smugs, he has some strange half shaven hairstyle with maybe a ponytail or braid or something.

Seconded!

Some of us have nicknamed the guy Chill McSmuggins. We know next to nothing about him yet, but everything I've seen makes me want to know more!

Not that there's anything wrong with Flaily Hands or the Cullen-looking guy from "War Room" or Grey Warden Dude from "Tavern," of course! There's still a lot of announcements to make. I'm just so impatient!:D

@EJ107 : I agree with you. The clothes look familiar. Who can it be, I wonder? And which pic do you refer to with the tavern pic?

@Faerah : Where is the leaked survey art of Dorian? Not sure which pic you are refering to. But Im guessing, and hoping, in the final form of the bald guy, he will have hair? I do find it strange having one of the companions bald, since that seems to be not prefered by the fans.

Top right, I believe this was an early concept of Dorian (assuming that his  spear-like weapon is a staff).

Aha, I see. Thanks.
Its a shame it´s such a low resolution. The black/read wearing woman/man looks the same though.
And I can see Cassandra, blond elf girl, Cullen and mustacheguy there as well.  But Dorian looks funny though. If thats the bald elf, they have massivly imporved his looks.

In the survey they gave word descriptions of some potential companions, Dorian, Iron Bull and Cole, and then showed the images seperately. As the other companions mentioned in the text-segment (Iron Bull and Cole) did not appear in images in the next part I always assumed that Dorian and trident guy were completely seperate charcters.

Sera had a description and concept art, so I figured Dorian could too.

Yes but on the other hand I didn't think we had a concept art not featuring the Inquisitor

Since there's a lot of speculation in this thread I think it would be fun to add my thoughts

I've started looking at the way companions should work in that they represent a large groups in Thedas, and then worked in their personality from the little hints we've gathered through artwork and tweets

Cassandra - represents the seekers and someone who believes in the Chantry. we already know a bit about her from the anime and DA2 so i won't go into much here

Varric -  We know a lot about him already. I'm wondering if we might see a bit of a change in him. Possibly a little bit of guilt for his involvement in the Mage/Templar war. Generally I think Varric represents the common person. No real allegiance or ideology .

Vivienne - Orlesian Circle Mage with a very pro circle stance. She sees what good the circle can do and wants to reinstate that status quo  A very demure character  Full of herself and ****sure. I'm not so sure if her want for the Circle comes from genuinely believing it does good, or if it's the only thing she'sever truly known and she florished under it's protection

Blonde Female Elf - It's said she is a mercenary (rogue) with a puckish attitude. I think she is going to represent City Elves and their plight. I think her puckish attitude will almost be a defense mechanism for her low self esteem because of her City Elf origins. A lovable character, but ultimately a very vulnerable person.

Smirky Bald Male Elf - This guy to me represents Dalish Elves and that's how he likes it. He's completely full of Elven Pride and is probably someone of importance with the dalish. I'm thinking he is a Keeper or next in line. He joins the Inquisition because he sees that it has the ability to gain power in thedas for the Dales.

Dramatic Hands Mustachio Man - Another Mage. I'm thinking a Tevinter Magister. He's actually the opposite of what we've become to expect of a Tevinter Magister. He's excitable, paranoid, and full of anxiety because he's always had to watch his back from other Magisters in Tevinter. He's a bit of a coward but he's not afraid to use magic in all it's forms. He has a vast knowledge of Blood magic and the Inquisition allows him in because of this.

The Iron Bull - represents Tal vashoth Qunari. From the descriptions we've gotten, he's not your typical Qunari. He actually likes fun and fights. I'm thinking as the story progresses we get to learn why he's turned his back on the Qun and possibly sway him back towards it or reinforce his choice to leave. He joins the inquisition simply because there is power and fun to be had from it.

Battle-hardened Grey Warden - Represents the Wardens, obviously. From some concept art it almost seems like he thinks the wardens aren't what they use to be. I think Corypheus has infiltrated the Wardens and has gotten to a point of power and is steering them towards something that this character does not agree with. He sees the Inquisition as something that can help him reveal the truth about the Wardens.

9th character is a mystery to me. It's probably a rogue of some sort. People have mentioned Cole from Asunder who has a better understanding as to what he is. I would like the idea of a Spirit companion. Just someone who can give some insight to when we have to enter the fade to deal with the various rifts.

This was fun.

Some nice speculations, and a balanced party...but again a sausage fest

And I don't see Flail O'Fancymustache as being significantly hinted, he just appeard in the war room art, and I don't buy his others supposed appearances, besides He doesn't look Tevinter at all, he looks more Orlesian with that fancy facial hair

Baldy McSmugs looks more Tevinter with his bald of awesome and dat smirk

Also, really hope Cole would be in the party

I think Cole is perfect for a DLC character. If you go by Asunder, he's just out there, like Shale.

Good list.

Another possibility for the Iron Bull's motivations is simply that he is on the payroll. As a mercenary he may be fighting because he's being paid to out of the Inquisition's coffers. Profit may be his initial motivation, only becoming emotionally invested as the story progresses.
