For me is Cullen in the Game as companion because i don´t think that the Grey Warden is romance option. Therefore the game need a human male romance. And could be Cullen.
A big disappointment would be if the game hadn´t a templar companion. Sure a Seeker is nice but not same as a real Templar.
And by the way why is this Dalish Archer/Dagger girl not more possible?
Nine companions confirmed!

I'd say the biggest obstacle to Cullen being a companion would be the number of human warriors. Do you really think that all the warriors in the game will be human (if 3) or 75% (if 4 warriors)?
I doubt it.
IMHO, thinking like that is a horrible way to design story/characters. Quotas. Frak quotas.

Sorry but that could be everybody. Also the Grey Warden and this female had in the video the same size.hhh89 wrote...

In one art. I saw more art pics from the dalish girl. For example the one with Iron Bull and the Inquistior. She's the blond elf that compares in one concept art along with Cassandra, the bearded Warden and the Inquisitor.
And why has nobody a former Origins companion in his or her list?

Not ruled out; but at the moment I doubt it's going to happen.

Any particular reason? Virtually every Bioware game has mutually exclusive party members; I don't see any particular reason to think they'll subvert that this time.

Regardless, it was never stated that the elf with the Black hair was dalish, and she didn't have the tatoo. Plus, the concept with the Inquisitor and Iron Bull, the one where they march to the keep with all the soldier that were saluting the inquisitor, was shown in the PAX (and Matt Rhodes posted in his blog and tumblr) in an updated art, without the elf and the IB. That because they might have changed their aspect (IB is definitely different, since in the art you mentioned he had shorter horns and the Inquisition robes. Plus, in the art of the blond elf in the tavern, Gaider said in his blog that the concept captures the character's personalies perfectly. While this doesn't mean that the elf appearance is definitive, it seems likely to me.
Either way, Sera is almost surely a companion, regardless if she has blond hair or black hair.

Just my feelings based on how they talked about them in the site.
I wouldn't mind if there are mutually esclusive companions, as long I have freedom in deciding the companion and not be forced by my class/race.

No that´s very unlikely.hhh89 wrote...
@Janus: unless you think that there'll be two rogue female elves, sure.
Then i hope that she has black hair. I really like the concept arts with her black hair.Either way, Sera is almost surely a companion, regardless if she has blond hair or black hair.

What if "The Iron Bull" was, in the end, our good ol' Sten from Origins (who grew some horns ) ?
We know that Sten is not really a name but a title / job he had. With his time with the Warden, all the new things he learned may have him choose to become an outcast and then choose himself another name / nickname.
Could be nice to have a returning compagnion from Origins, and Sten was a very cool follower by the time...

Because Sten's busy being Arishok.
Also, this is just me, but I'd personally like to keep returning companions to a minimum. I like to think of the Origins' gang as being the Warden's companions. Let the Inquisitor get his own group.

Yes that would be nice but in most of my saves he would be busy as the new Arishok.Oloos wrote...

And you have a point. At least one Origins companion will make a return. Shale as female dwarf would be cool.
But the highest chance has Leliana.

About the diversity, it's not something I particulary care, since we had tons of content about the Wardens in the main games, expansion and the dlc, and we had two Warden companions. While the bearded Warden seems interesting, I'm indifferent about his role as companion, as I am to towards Cullen.
I care a lot about diversity and DAO's warrior festival annoyed me quite a lot (since I ripped the guts of that elf assissin and only completed the Circle arc after the other...thank god I recruited Leliana)
As for the Grey wardens, we don't see that much about them as an organisation in DAO, nor DAA...and we barely see them in DA2, while we run across a Templar at every street corner in DAO, DA2, and likely DAI

From a story standpoint, yes, but here we're taking about companions that have an impact on the gameplay, and a balanced gameplay is foundamental in that area
Besides, we'll have important NPC that don't fall on the quota requirement

About the Warden, DAO and DAA's plots are about the Wardens, we saw glimpse of them in DA2, and Legacy has a lot of Warden content. And I didn't say we shouldn't see the Wardens, or not have a major NPC that would talk about them. We still wouldn't see much about the Warden as an organization even if we have one as a companion.
My point is that for me Cullen or the Warden will probably give the same amount of interest.

I mean, how often did romance actually come into play out on the road during an adventure? It always played out back at camp or back at the estate afterwards.

Vapaä: with diversity I was referring to the warrior com
panions you mentioned in your examples, not the balance between rogue, mage and warrior companions.
I also care about this, in DAO you had a Qunari, an almost Templar, a cliché dwarf a war dog and a Sentient golem, and in DA you had a Orlesian guard captain and a former Tevinter slave
All these different backgrounds and culture add a great variety of characters, where Cassandra and Cullen are most more alike (they're not the same, but alike)
It's like having two circle mages, it's wasted potential

About the Warden, DAO and DAA's plots are about the Wardens
But not about Wardens as an organization, your Warden end up being the only Warden with a couple of sidekicks not very interested in the whole Warden thing

Of course, just a companion is not enough, but since they teased that the Wardens are up to something, having one with you adds an other pov in what will likely be a side arc (or even an imortant one)

I wouldn't call Oghren a cliche dwarf. I'd call him a deconstruction of a cliche dwarf.
I am a fan of a satirical fantasy audio show, and one the characters is a dwarf...THEY'RE THE SAME ! smelly, vulgar, drunk, annoying axe-loving brutes, the thing is that dwarf was the embodiement of dwarf clichés played for laughs, Oghren isn't.
