So, EJ107, who would you name as the male LIs? The elf, the dwarf, the grizzled veteran, or the qunari? We've always had at least one human LI per gender. Nothing against Grey Warden dude, but making both LIs "exotic" due to race or age would be odder than having a class comprised of of a single race.

I don't want to give into the haters' stereotype that Cullen fans are shallow, but you're right, they usually have at least one conventionally attractive male character. Like I said, it is NOT the reason why Cullen fans like him. I'm saying that it makes it more likely for Cullen to be a LI/companion as we are all just speculating the possibilities here.

I thought he was originally but now I think it's a companion. I haven't seen anyone actually prove that it's the Inquisitor. If they do I'll change my mind.

The hooded male in the tavern picture could very well be the elven mage. No facial hair, and the chin is the same as the elf. That isn't to say that Flaily Hands isn't in the game, but the tavern painting doesn't confirm it.

Bottom line: It's all speculation. Yours, mine, everyone else's.

Ultimately, we don't know if Iron Bull is a companion or present in some other capacity. We don't know if Cullen is a companion or present in some other capacity. We don't know that there are any dwarven women (I'd like Sigrun as the third rogue, but there's nothing to bear that out).

I consdiered that, but it lacks the signature clothing he is wearing in the other concept art he appears in, so I thought it was unlikely. 

I know it's all speculation. I just think that some people go to great lengths to justify somebody being a companion because they really want them to be one, even if it doesn't seem likely. 

I don't blame them, I understand that they love the charcters and I've done it a lot with past Bioware games, but it almost always ended in disappointment. That's why I'm trying to go by what I see/ think would make sense rather than what I want this time.

Depending on whether you consider the person next to the inquisitor Cullen. In talking about in-game appearances, Cullen is definitely in the game as there are many leaks showing that already.

I personally still aren't convinced that's Cullen in that particular concept art. I recognised Cassandra, Varric and Leliana immediately- it was only reading the forums I saw people thought that it was Cullen. I still didn't see it. It might be, but I just don't think it looks anything like him. 

I haven't seen any of these "leaks" but I was specifically talking about in-game footage. We've seen the Qunari in-engine in trailers but I have yet to see Cullen at all outside of the leaked survey.

There's nothing to say that the qunari we've seen in the trailer/concept art is the Iron Bull. The inquisitor can be qunari. The male next to Flaily Hands guy in Matt Rhodes's "War Room" bears a striking resemblance to Cullen. He isn't in templar gear, but after what happened in Kirkwall, Cullen may have been forced out of the templars or left voluntarily.

Of course, not everyone in that painting is a companion. Not everyone in any of the concept art is a companion, and that applies to qunari, too.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter. The companions are already decided. We're just squabbling over who's predictions are closest, and we won't find out the answer to that until next year.

I'll just re-post this from the Cullen thread:

We really only have two males and two warriors "confirmed" right now. Varric and GW guy are the two males, and Cassandra and GW guy are the two warriors. Every thing else is up in the air.

This is in regards to Cullen can't be a companion because there's either "too many males already", or "too many warriors already".

He is confirmed to be in the game. He is not confirmed, YET, to be a companion. Same thing with one of the main protagonists from Asunder. Confirmed to be in the game, but we don't know to what capacity.

Well you can say that the concept art guy is not Cullen but you could also say that in-game qunari is some other qunari and not Iron Bull.
And I've also seen people claim that Leliana in the concept art doesn't look anything like Leliana and is some other person and some said that Varric was the bearded greywarden... everyone sees different things when it comes to concept art it seems

Personally when people posted the concept art in their posts I didn't think it looked much like Cullen. But when I saw a larger version I changed my mind as he really looked a lot like Cullen.

In the shot with the flags, yes. Always shown alone, never with anyone who has been identified as a companion. Also remember that Meredith featured quite prominently in DA2's concept art. Several people argued quite adamantly that she was a companion. Cassandra, too, as I recall.

I've got nothing against the guy. I just haven't seen anything that would prove that he isn't an agent or some other NPC.

I don't remember it shows anywhere that the qunari is Ironbull in the game footage. I don't mean to be a racist but all qunari looks the same to me.   

At this point, we know definitely that Cullen would be in the game. As for Iron Bull, it seems more like assumptions that he would be a companion based on qunari concept art that may or may not be him. We don't even know if Iron Bull would even be in the game at all because concept art is just concept art. They changes all the time when they start developing the game. Sera and a Tal Vashoth were supposed to be in DA2 based on the concept art, but they didn't. A lot of the characters in DA2 concept art didn't as well. Cullen is definitely be in the game, so I don't see how someone who appeared in concept art has more chance than someone who is in the game. I have not seen any footage indicated that the qunari shown in the video is Iron Bull.
