Since Darrah mentioned Tevinter the presumption is the Inquisitor goes there.
So does that mean bull gets left behind .
Hard to see the Tevinters passively watching bull stroll through one of their cities like a tourist on holiday .

The Tevinter party member will be forced to sit between iron bull and a qunari inquisitor during meals.

Speculation or no some people's theories of companions have nearly made me cringe.

Out of curiosity, who're you more excited about and who are you cringing over?

Cole a blasted Demon? Seriously; Beign or not that spirit shouldn't be anywhere near the Inquistor mainly from my expreince of spirits and human companions they have posssesed. Both featured ones weren't overly endearing to me.
The fact he might have killed Lambert and then be forced upon me just makes it worse. I wouldn't want that companion for all the Gold in Darmalon.
That said a Qunari or far more likely a Tal Vashoth companion brings up a bunch of interesting scenario's and political climates that were unused for several games now. You occasionally got a glance or an odd comment for bringing Sten along with you, But as some have said before.
The Imperium has been at war with the Qunari for centuries now, Even if your follower was not a follower of the Qun they still likely would have at least a few things to say on bringing a fomer convert of the Qun along.
I have no real opinion on the Circle Mage companion nor Casandra although that will likely change after more is revealed upon their presence in game as the launch date edges closer.

And I think it's a pretty safe bet that the Iron Bull, Sera, and the that one Grey Warden are all companions too. Would be interesting to get more confirmed companions too, though - I wouldn't be surprised if Cullen is one, considering he carried through into DA2 and seemed to be on that survey.
Frankly I'd love to have a Dalish/city elf apostate boy with dark hair and a sunny demeanor to romance, though. |D

Merrill as a dude basically?

LOL I didn't even think about that. For what it's worth, I did romance Merrill, though. XD
Nah, I was thinking of a sunny demeanor, with maybe Isabela's playfulness and some of Morrigan's snark - more or less a romance without much... baggage or big conflicts, lol. Sort of like Garrus' romance in that regard, I suppose.
I would like a light-haired female romance and a dark-haired guy romance to kind of switch things up: for some reason, all the guys have blonde hair and the girls all have dark hair sans Leliana.

To be honest, I haven't read Asunder(The Calling really turned me off Dragon Age novels) but what I've read about Cole hasn't endeared me to him.
That being said, I think having a spirit or a demon on our team would make a lot of sense from a story stand point and isn't something I'm against in principle. I'm not even against that spirit being Cole. I think he'd work better as a dlc companion, though.

Aye, I hope for this too. If that Dorian dude is either the bald elf or the "THAT IS MAHOGANY" guy, I really hope they're not as dull, twisted, or sour as the last guy.rafalima wrote...

I read up on Cassandra, Varric, and Viviene, so I'm aware of them, and looking forward to seeing how they play out. We've more or less unofficially confirmed the slightly older male Grey Warden, as he's shown up in lots of the concept art out there, yes?
As well as the blonde archer (elf), named Sera?
(Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm just really curious to see what everyone has found so far)
I understand that the (possibly/probably) iffy survey pictures of the companions may be outdated, but anyone have some ideas on that? Such as the shorter man with the staff in the top right corner? Or the middle left top and bottom guys who (to me) look really really similar in terms of appearance and costume (I'd totally be down to have some twins in my party, just saying).
And finally, just to throw my two cents in, and going off of the information available so far, this seems like it could be plausible
Warriors: Cassandra, Cullen, and the Grey Warden dude
Mages: Viviene, the shorter man with the staff (top right survey pic) and the two middle left top bottom guys who look like twins
Rogues: The blonde elf girl, and Varric.
Is it possible this Iron Bull character might be DLC as a companion, but otherwise in the game as an NPC/questgiver/plot?

What do you mean? Like the way some of the elves looked (odd) in DA2?

Never did like the knife ear insult.
Humans didn't mind throwing those insults but sure seemed eager to get under the elven women's skirts.

Nope - The Bull will have to sit between my blood-mage (who would love nothing more then to be a magister) and the Tevinter companion (and have to listen to them plotting to end his pathetic, communist borg people with delusions of greatness!)
