I'm really hoping Cole and Dorian aren't cut. Especially Cole. They would make for such interesting characters. A half-crazy ghost and a Tevinter magister (possibly with slaves and blood magic) seem so much cooler than an elven rogue girl (Zevran, I love you, but we don't need any more shallow Rogues after you and Isabela) and Cullen.
I think Sera would essentially be Isabela mark 2, and Cullen could be Alistair mark 2 as well.
I always held a fascination with Tevinter whenever Fenris told me about it. I think that Tevinter could be the darkest, most badass place in Thedas, and I would love to see someone from the other side of Fenris' perspective (whoo blood magic).
As for Cole... well... he's probably on my top 3 list of Dragon Age characters. I can't express how gleeful it would make me to bring Cole home from a mission and have the self-righteous party members get mad at me for it. Plus, his story seems far from finished after Asunder.

If Dorian is a companion I'd rather he wasn't into slaves or Blood magic. The former would make it too difficult to like his character, and after Merrill and Anders I'd rather our mage companions avoid blood magic this game.

It´s name used in leaked survey for female elf archer. There is possibility it´s the same elf archer from concept art.

the guy in concept art who is next to cassandra looks like sebastian, appearance and clothing is very similar

We pretty much know the Warden warrior is also an companion. Though, we know nothing of his character. Besides, I'm getting an feeling that the Qunari used in the promos will also be an companion.

if you notice on the site, they got him with the "choose your race" statement next to him... that could also just mean that qunari are an as-yet-unnamed race we can pick.

anyway, i'm inclined to believe that leliana may also be a companion. but who knows for sure? she may just be an important npc like morrigan... same goes for cullen who's been teased at as well.

Thing is, there seems to be a grey warden warrior as well, which would give us at least 4 warriors.

Scribe girl from the survey art looks sort of like a mage. Cole could be too I guess? He is a demon with all the memories of a mage, and he can use some sort of blood magic.

But how do you know that Dorian isn't an elf?  You can't because we don't have enough information about him outside of knowing that he was planned to be a Tevinter Magister.

Also, both DA:O and DA2 only had two mage companions, so there's no reason to assume that the companions will be evenly spread across the three classes.

And we know that the bearded warrior is going to be in the party (at least temporarily) because we see footage of that in the videos.

I'm seriously hoping that the ten we've seen so far are the real ten, with one of them (guessing Iron Bull) being the DLC companion. From the looks of things, if anyone of them was cut it was probably Cole. And that would break my heart

That'd be a damn shame, because I think Cole had a lot of potential to be relevant to the whole Fade tear/spirits/demons thing.

Because this is a speculation thread?  And we have been pretty upfront about acknowledging that the information from the survey is not solid at all.

However, as far as I know, it's never been said that the survey is completely invalid.  I believe it's been said that some of the information from it has changed and hinted that one of the speculated companions has been cut.  So I don't see why people can't speculate using this as one piece of information to be taken with a grain of salt.

Looking around, it seems like many people are taking these possibilities to heart though. I'm seeing a lot of people commenting on how disappointed they will be if x character doesn't appear because they were "tots in the survey!!11!". 
Speculation is well and good, but I'm seeing some people taking the survey as fact/ proof that a certain character will appear. >.>

**I just don't want this to turn into a "You lied to us about this companion!11!!" type of situation. That's all. lol.

Why i choose Leliana and not Cole? First i she is quite more popular than Cole. I have this strang feeling that a prominent Origins character is necessary to sell this game better for Non Fans who only knows Origins.
And Cole was only hinted in the survey. And that´s all. Maybe he was cut.
Last but not least. We need an archer companion. I don´t think bows fits to Cole. More to Leliana.
Or can Varric uses bows this time? I think that´s unlikely.

I don't see Leliana being a companion again. There are enough people upset that she survived (through divine intervention). lol. I figure she'll be like Morrigan and just be an important character.

I'm actually pleasantly surprised that there is only 1 returning companion confirmed and 1 speculated (and unlikely, I think). I like the idea of the Inquisitor getting his/her unique companions. I'm really thinking that Leliana is going to play a large role as an NPC, similar to Morrigan.

I consider NPC's who become companions slightly different, so Isabella, Cassandra, and (possibly) Cullen don't count in my opinion.

DA: O --> DA: A: Only Oghren returns
DA: A --> DA2: Anders and Merrill return (even though she was only an origin companion)
DA2 --> DA: I: Only Varric returns? I wouldn't mind it.

I definitely prefer new companions. NPCs who become companions are different as we've never gotten to delve into their personalities.

I admit, I don't mind Varric returning though. xDD
