I have a couple questions for the PC version of the game.

How much storage do you need for all 3 games?

Can you play the PC versions with an Xbox controller?

EDIT: Is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 too far below min specs?

Thanks in advance.

ME1: 10.2 GB
ME2: 18.5 GB
ME3: 22.0 GB

This is not including save files.

The PC versions don't support controllers in any game. Shame, since ME2 in particular has horrible menu navigation that simply isn't tailored for keyboards.

The GT 630 should suffice if you keep your resolution low, like 1280x720. The ME games aren't very demanding.

Is your GPU a GT 630 GDDR5 or a GT 630 DDR3, a GT 630 DDR3 is on a par with a 7950 GX2 and a GT 630 GDDR5 is around a 8800 GT 256MB or 8800 GTS 320mb so it does just the minimum requirements (see below)
Of course you need to also meet the require for CPU, RAM, Disk Space etc.

Also are meaning the Desktop GT 630 not the mobile (laptop) GT 630M because I don't think the GT 630M will meet the minimum (But I'm not 100% sure on that).

Mass Effect 3 Minimum system requirements:
OS – Windows XP SP3 / Vista SP1 / Windows 7
CPU – 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU
RAM – 1 GB for Windows XP / 2 GB for Vista or Windows 7
Disc Drive – 1x speed
Hard Drive: at least 15 GB of free space Internet connection is required to play
GPU – 256 MB with Pixel Shader 3.0 supportSupported chipsets: Nvidia 7900 or better; ATI X1800 or better.  Please note that Nvidia GeForce 9300, 8500, and 8300 are below minimum system requirements, as are AMD/ATI Radeon HD3200, HD3300, and HD4350.
Sound – DirectX 9.0c compatibleDirectX – DirectX 9.0c

Xbox contoller is NOT supported but the PC interface on all 3 games is designed with KB/M in mind (Unlike say, Skyrim) so in my mind a KB/M is preferred anyway.

I'm not sure of the exact storage but if had say 50gb it would be enough for all 3 games with all DLC i'm sure.

**EDIT**

It's a PC.

The GT 630 is DDR3.

As long as you meet the other requirements you should be fine at lowest setting on a low res.

I have a NVIDIA GT 630M (Acer laptop), I play the 3 games with all quality settings at maximum and I don't experience any slow-downs (and my pc is not a "gaming beast"). If you want to make the graphics even sharper, go to the NVidia configuration menu in your task bar, you can improve the visual quality even more with a few options there.

There are pages you can find in google where people give you tips on how to set up your graphic card  using the NVIDIA control panel in Windows (not just with the game configuration parameters), look for "Nvidia Forceware Tweak Guide".

I see, I might just get another xbox in that case.

I just couldn't play the game on the lowest settings.

I appreciate all the info.

Lowest settings don't matter. They don't cause a notable change in framerate in ME1, and the sequels don't even have that many graphics options to begin with. You could of course play the Mass Effect 2 demo and see how that runs.

Also, make sure your processor is not AMD FX. The FX series causes shader problems in ME1. There's a fix for it, but it isn't pretty.

I would honestly suggest trying the ME2 and ME3 demos as that is the quickest way of gauging how they will run. ME1 should run very similarly, but when I had a fairly low end PC I found ME2 running a lot better than ME1 did.

Controller is supported if you use third party programs like Xpadder, otherwise the games do not support Controllers by themselves.

You can play every game with a XBOX-Controller. Just use X-Padder.

I found the same thing, although not usually in the combat segments. Walking around the Presidium was fairly rubbish on the laptop I first played ME1 on. ME2 had some slowdown issues but they were almost all in cutscenes, so didn't really matter.

I still say give keyboard and mouse a shot.  It isn't too hard to adjust and aiming is quite wonderful on a mouse once you are used to it.

The interface was altered to use a mouse and the aim assist was removed. Xpadder is not a good option. There's are config tweaks to get controller support back in, but with the missing GUI elements, this is also not a good option.

Some people just prefer controllers.

I'll be honest movement in the games in better with an analogue stick but having such easy access to all your powers at a touch on the keyboard is exceptional in a tight moment.

Honestly if not for the mods available on the PC, I'd be playing the games on my 360. I tend to use the tactical pause a lot in the PC versions as well, so using the 'wheels' on the consoles isn't a great issue for me.

I play games on PC because PC has undeniable superior graphics. I use Xbox controller because it is more comfortable especially for 3rd person games. And PC gaming means choice. Why would a sane human being wanna prohibit support both (and let people decide what they wanna use)

I agree. I like to sit back in my chair and relax. and not up at my desk. PCs have superior graphics and mods available.

Here's the thing. For how long do you stay sat back in that chair?

How long is it before you start creeping forward and end up perched on the edge of your seat. Quite often I'd bet.

I can probably help out here because I play with a GT 620 on desktop and my game plays just fine, pretty factor wise. But in fairness I have an i5 3330 quad core processor and 6 gigs of ram. The game on my computer looks beautiful- I know because I ran it on my win 7 laptop first which only has a Radeon 6470M although the crappy 1.9 dual core might bear greater responsibility there. Your processor is king when it comes to getting the best out of your graphics card- you run a great card with a bad processor and your game will look bad period.

As long as you have a good processor and memory along with that graphics card, you'll be fine. I run all my games at 1440*900 and 1680*1050 and my games look and play kick ass. I only run into inevitable compatibility issues with a Window 8 64 bit machine and of course the fact NVIDIA shafts older games with their drivers. You might want to use the last driver of theirs that worked well with the Mass Effect series. Apart from setting the game to run by administrator (I just have my original copy of the game which requires the net to start up) Mass Effect has had zero crashes to desktop or other issues. It's shocking compared to the third where I can have issues upon quitting the game application (just that, runs smooth otherwise) or the second where I have several glitches with compatibility.

I get the controller bit- it's more comfortable sitting away and playing- especially when I'm having a migraine prone day. Fortunately HDMI cables help with the weaker graphics. I play both platforms although I'm ticked with Skyrim at the moment on 360- game runs on PC fine, I've had one crash on PC while I multitasked. 360, freezes galore and nervously avoiding game breaking glitches I can't magic away with the in game console.
