I don't want book characters in the game. Espically not as companions. The only thing worse is returning companions.

I want to know this story sooooo bad. It's beyond interesting to hear where the ideas and inspirations of great characters come from. Sometimes they can come from the oddest of places, other times sad, and yet it could be a single line of thought turned time and time again to find something that approaches humanity.

if they introduce cole in inquisition they have to build him up as if it's the first time we've heard of him, don't expect players having read the book already, or else him being there feels tacked on just like kai leng in me3 or daniel cross in ac3,

The Inquisitor in particular hasn't met Cole before and had nothing to do with Asunder, wouldn't they kind of have to?

neither did shepard with kai leng or desmond with daniel cross and we know how that went

That's what I was thinking aswell. He might be the next companion they release... whenever that may be. 

But oh sweet jesus I will be so happy if he is. He might be my new favorite.

Really? I've only heard scraps of informations about him, but he doesn't sound all too great if you ask me. I'd love to be proven wrong though.

If you read Asunder, you will understand. Trust me =) He awakens so many emotions that are all in conflict. I mean, I am afraid of him, yet I want to hug him really really bad. Does that make sense? It kinda doesn't. So I want moar.

I found Cole such an interesting, somewhat tragic and conflicted character. Part of me did feel sorry for him (more for what happened in the life of the real 'Cole').

If he was a companion, you would never be able to fully trust him (or you would have to work very hard to gain his). But having someone who is in effect a demon (well that's what I thought he was anyway) would be very interesting, particlarly one who has taken on these human emotions/memories.

The only problem is, would he be a companion that only the Inquisitor could see? And also if he does appear, surely there must be an appearance by Rhys and Evangeline somewhere down the line?

I think he would make an interesting companion, or NPC for the game but that is all.

I wouldn't keep my sympathy from Cole as we know him either. He still lived that life, and was then hammered with a terrible awakening.

I dunno. Don't even know if BW would consider him to be a fitting romance option. In many ways, he is not really a fully functional adult. It could definitely be seen as abusive by some should the inquisitor make moves, I think. It could work for me if it's done well, and I wouldn't mind a Cole romance, but more than anything I'm just happy to see him in the game at all. He's a terrific character and I want more, no matter what role he plays.

... just damnit let me hug that kid. Srsly

I love Cole. Huge fan here 

I think what I'm most interested in is learning what Cole actually is. I would be really disappointed to learn he's "just" a demon. Surely it's more complicated than that. Plus there's the issue of Cole's personhood. Is Cole a person? I think he is, especially since he's so beloved to his writer.

I always thought of him as human, but I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out as an elf. Would be happy - my pc is usually an elf too. 

Since there's a chance Cullen is the other romance, Cole could be the elf. So we have one elf one human. As in the past two games. That's what bioware ends up doing otherwise there will be open riots! Zevran and Fenris lovers everywhere will swarm the forums incessantly! 

But if he were an elf, surely someone would have mentioned it. Surely someone who can see him? I don't care - as long as he's not dwarf or qunari!
