If I didn't check these forums from time-to-time I'd have completely missed the announcements.

different races - now I am torn whether I want to play a dwarf or a mage, decisions decisions... I absolutely love the new look of all the races but those dwarfs, I can't resist
reactivity based on races and class choices - any reactivity is a good news, already can't wait for replaying the game I haven't played yet
the importance of our protagonist - it feels different than the two previous games, I am very curious of our protagonist, why s/he is so special?
number of companions - 9 sounds good, especially in combination with complex relationships with pc and each other!
the scope of the game - the scale of the plot but also the variety of settings, it's absolutely stunning and I sense a lot of time spend on exploration
There is a downside to all this goodness, namely it will be very hard to wait another year, but I am prepared for such (like I have a choice) if the game will be as good as it promises.

We'll see.
Best attitude to have, if I'm honest. Though the game does look aesthetically amazing, there is still a lot to be said about the actual game itself.
Remember, pre DA2, there were scenes in the trailer which weren't shown in-game, like Hawke being named Champion in public, and his supposed "rise" to "power."
Respectfully, this thread is about admitting that there is at least one thing worth getting excited about, and patting our hardworking devs on the back for making it happen for us.
A certain amount of "wait and see" is reasonable, but we've seen some pretty amazing stuff these last few weeks. Nothing wrong with giving some credit where it's due.

- Exploration! No more being funneled by boulders or windfalls along a very narrow path. Seriously, exploring the world is one of my absolute favourite things in the MMORPGs and more open-world RPGs that I've played to date. I have literally spent hours just poking around in RIFT looking for artifacts. So having to explore in order to build my Inquisitor's influence is going to rock.
- Environmental effects - I love it. My dream RPG would be one that actually goes through the trouble of making seasons for the SAME geographic areas, although I realize that would mean doubling (rainy/dry season in tropical regions) or quadrupling (spring/summer/fall/winter in temperate and polar regions) the required graphics and cutscene work so I know it'll probably never happen. However, having rain, sandstorms, etc. is really going to add a lot to DAI for me. And having them actually affect how my party moves/takes shelter etc is going to be brilliant.
- Revisiting Ferelden, seeing more of it. Ferelden will always be my DA home, I think. So going back to it, seeing how it's struggling to get over the Blight and civil war, and wondering anew how it will fare when the current monarch dies (heirless in all likelihood - though I think that is more likely to happen in a future game, not during DAI) will be bittersweet and wonderful.
- The new story seems really promising.
Not pumped about yet, because I don't know enough about it, but I'm interested in:
- Agents... I'm hoping that we can play our Agents in single player games (kind of like rescuing the Warden from Fort Drakon with companions) rather than just sending them off and then having them report back to us. I think it would be fun to see the world from several viewpoints other than my Inquisitor's, but I don't know how plausible this would be, mostly because companions' personalities are created by the writers, not the players. So, making the companions' decisions and choosing their dialogue options for them would probably be very tricky if not impossible.

Seriously though - thank you, I'm excited, I'm stoked, I'm interested, I'm studying up, I'm all those things. Keep at it - and take the time you need. I'm having a hard time being patient through the excitement, but I promise to manage that!

LOL, YES! I was just going to say, "Huh?"
I never expected anything as detailed as weather effects and am shocked in the best way to hear that they're happening and having an effect on the gameplay!
I'm sure more info is coming. That it's happening at all is a big bonus. Can't expect to see everything all at once.

I'm already working on my imports - we are importing right? Right? Can you give us fanatics a heads up on if it's from DA2 only or from DA:O/A or what the order of play should be or anything helpful? I've only got a year to get this all together y'know

They are playing with new ways to import, so if you're replaying the past games just to have a perfect playthrough, you needn't bother. If you're having fun with them, though, then get on with your bad self.

All the stuff is awesome.
Also: Crushing on Laidlaw, who is totes adorbz in all these videos.
I have heard more than one comment today that there are players that would like to see the Beardy Grey Warden be a romanceable NPC, but only if modeled after and voiced by Mark Laidlaw.
<--- not kidding
Shhhh! Stop telling everyone my ideas!

I took those as examples... they didn't have time to list off everything and what effects it'll have. That sandstorms will damage you, forcing you to take shelter, and bogs in rain will slow you down, making combat more difficult, are two very interesting examples of how weather can affect you in game.

I liked the look of the customizable armours (couldn't see any long mage robes - yay!) And being able to change the landscape/reshape the environment sounds really intriguing. And it seems decisions made are going to have a huge impact.
Plus there's Varric.
Can't wait till next next year!

It's understandble, considering the hype of Titanfall and BF4. RPG's outside of Skyrim have never been that popular as FPS.
