Hope it will stay that way, cause I don't want to experience the awkwardness of my mage trying to look impressive whilst riding a horse... ladies' styleNewschmoo wrote...
The minute I found out about playable races I was elated. I loved the example models shown. Downside is I am now torn as to which Inquisitor I should play first - elven mage or dwarven rogue?!
I liked the look of the customizable armours (couldn't see any long mage robes - yay!) And being able to change the landscape/reshape the environment sounds really intriguing. And it seems decisions made are going to have a huge impact.
Plus there's Varric.
Can't wait till next next year!

I wouldn't be surpised if those examples of weather effects are all there is to the weather system, while the team could potentially scrap the feature for balancing purposes or programming issues.ladyiolanthe wrote...
I took those as examples... they didn't have time to list off everything and what effects it'll have. That sandstorms will damage you, forcing you to take shelter, and bogs in rain will slow you down, making combat more difficult, are two very interesting examples of how weather can affect you in game.
Nothing is guaranteed about the depth of the feature, so i'll just wait and see.

And if they do add cloaks, watch out. That's some deep fan service there, going back years.
I also...look, I know this is shallow, and I'm pumped about playable races, environmental effects, and all the other good stuff too, but...in the past BioWare made great games, but not necessarily great looking games. NWN, DAO, etc. were all OK looking, but really that was about it. I'm just thrilled that I'll get to play a top-notch BW RPG that's also top-of-the-line visually.

How the heck did this become a Mike Laidlaw fangirl thread? Not that I mind.
BSN, please never change.
Every thread should be a Mike Laidlaw fangirl thread.

Didn't they mention weather as some of the environmental variables involved in the gameplay vid?The Hierophant wrote...
pessimistic - I'm disappointed that there's little mention of weather effects, but yay for the races, iso cam, and harpoons.
Was this an elcor joke and I missed it?!
The weather stuff they did mention talked about how IF it began to rain, then the terrain would potentially become boggy. I think that sounds fantastic.
And certainly cooler than anything we've seen before.
Will it live up to your expectations? That depends on their plans and your expectations.
Is it undeniably an improvement worth noting and praising? Definitely.
So buck up and let yourself be happy, li'l camper.

Loving everything I've seen so far.
So excited about the new Inquisition. What it is. What it means. What it will do. So. Excited.
The new environments looks stunning... and lore laden. Can't wait to uncover every nook and cranny and figure out what all those statues and petroglyphs and new heraldry mean.
Love the customization of the new PCs. The variations in the PC armor in the dev diary today were smashing. And, loving Sassy Inquisitor's pimp hat the most!
Intrigued by the new story. Agents of chaos, plural! A new villain, singular!
Thanks so much, Bioware, for the great sneak peeks this month.
Yes! Loving that hat! loving everything I hear so far and i can't wait for this game to come out.

Not exactly, but there is a bowstring in this concept art from today's video.
*EDIT* wrong picture. Digging..
**EDIT AGAIN** I've decided everyone can do their own digging. I'm hungry.

I'd like to hear more about the tactical camera before I go all melty (that's a word, right?) because my aging reflexes can't do the twitch thing very well.
I remember when asking for horses and cloaks was considered a joke round these parts. Bioware, you're all grown up! *sniffle*

I had been debating whether or not I even wanted to purchase the next game in the dragon age story but you guys are doing a good job of winning me over.

Multiple races, mounts, changeable armour, weather effects, Morrigan, Varric... the list goes on.
I'm so happy for Bioware right now, I think they deserve some love.
So here's to you, Bioware- you're pretty damn awesome.

I didn't really care for race-choice, but I am actually very pumped that people are getting what they want. I'm a bit sad to see backgrounds go in favor of races, but I can live with it if it means that more people will enjoy the game.
If I had to single out a specific thing to be pumped about I'd have to say that I'm really pumped about the art I have seen so far, epecially the video where the various armors concepts were shown off. Looks like no more 300 lbs massive armors and over the top shoulderpads, now we get chainmail, somewhat functional looking chestplates, armguards and shoulderpads, cool rogue armor with some flair and just an overall improvement in the armor department.
I especially rea-he-he-lly liked the last warrior armor with the furr trimmed collar (at 1:56 in this video). I approve +15!
Overall, I really like what I'm seeing so far from the art department, and I hope they continue to amaze me.

Mine as well haha. Outside of college and work, purely Dragon Age.
The armor was just mouth-watering gorgeous and stylish. DAT COWBOY HATS!
Bioware-
You are all awesome

1 - Playable races for sure.
2 - Some armor with style and pizzazz (the hat, the hat)
3 - the graphics. The dragon was cool, the terrains and weather, but what really had me taking notice was the closeup of the sun on the meadow of grass and flowers as the camera zoomed over it.
4 - all the options it sounds like we'll have in terms of decision making and gameplay. The use of agents and the ingame reactivity to what we do.
I see a lot of potential in the storyline which I'm looking forward to.

I realize that moment of happiness has probably already passed, but I'm glad I got to take part in it. And I'm glad I didn't miss out on the joke.

I'm glad they are rolling out some positive features, but am I the only one who is seeing ZERO buzz for this game online?
If I didn't check these forums from time-to-time I'd have completely missed the announcements.
The behemoth that is GTA is coming and that has most of the internets attention. Bioware has most of next year to get hype, so I wouldn't worry.

Well, Mass Effect 3 was seriously hyped for about a year, and look wheere it got them.
Can you blame them for being more low key this time around?
I actually approve of this.
