The environments look awesome. I mean... there's bushes and grasses and such that don't look like they're just blobs that have been painted to look real. With MOVEMENT even.

Also... that dark area in the later bit of of the vid. I'm at work so I can't pull up the exact time, but I'm excited for it. I don't know that it's the deep roads, obviously, but it looks like the book makes me picture them. I never thought graphics were all that important to me compared to story and characters, but as I play more games (I wasn't much of a gamer before I discovered Bioware) I'm starting to appreciate how much they add to feeling really connected to the story.

In short: Squee!

Just remember, that *squee* comes with an equally resounding *gasp* from your GPU if you want to eat all the eyecandy.

Okay, this moment in the video. The one that's actual in-game footage? OMG.

TWO types of goat/gazelle things PLUS brontos (!?!?!?) PLUS birds flying away PLUS dat dragon(!) PLUS the way that the plants and water and dust moved?!

I died.

Seriously. Remember me fondly. This did me in.

It was lovely to see! Though, it reminded me of this: http://youtu.be/LfBpYfzKpdo?t=1m18s
I thought it might be part of a cutscene or something, not sure.  Either way, the amount of detail was amazing.

I actually always found the blood a bit silly, especially in DAO. I turned it off... haha.

Ah, I see someone else who shared my general disdain for the Blood Pox lol.

When I watched the diary the first time, I immediately disregarded the footage as unimportant. "CG is boring," I thought. Upon rewatching the video, it dawned on me... that **** was probably in-game. They wouldn't show a single CG scene like that, it'd be an entire trailer instead. ****!

It is a very nice scene but i think some of the colours are very bright, maybe make the shadows a little darker or the trees a little more green, just my opinion.

Your opinion is totally valid, but if it's at all helpful, I've been to Kenya and Uganda and this is exactly what the brush and the sunlight look like. I almost felt at home looking at it. Posted Image

I need to go to Kenya. I want to see Inquisition graphics without there being a computer monitor in the way. As a bonus, I don't think Kenya has dragons either.

I would definitely recommend it! Just don't do what I did and pee next to a boulder that turns out to be a rhinoceros... Posted Image

From what I've seen, it looks like this game is going to be visually stunning. I can see my character getting her butt kicked because i'm too busy watching the breeze make waves in the grass. "Flowers, pretty..." WHAP.

This is a fabulous thread and my only grumble is that with showing us the pieces of what you have been working so very hard on and with clear passion is that you are going to make it very hard to wait for over a year before we get to play it!

When the delay was announced, I thought 'Okay, no worries and my life doesn't revolve around Dragon Age.' Then the trailer showed us Varric, Cassandra and Morrigan returning. Then I received my Game Informer in the mail with Dragon Age on the cover and with the videos and the screen shots and now I feel that small feeling of giddiness that comes at Christmas. I mean, return of the races is awesome, the dragon and the world looks alive and incredible, new stories, new characters, familiar faces, amazing hats and a living reactive environment. This with a year of improvements to make!

Well played, Bioware. Well played indeed.

Please make it available for both sexes. Please.

I like hats. Hats are cool. More hats please.

In terms of the game, I thought at the end of DA2 that, despite the reservations I had about the game I’d just completed, Bioware had left Thedas in a position where a wonderfully epic third instalment of the franchise was on the cards. The news that DAI had been delayed was good as it meant that the company had time to acheive that properly. I’ve been very impressed with the noises that Bioware has made so far with respect to the story, character customisation and general game mechanics, and it does look like the game that I envisioned is in the works. The early in-game visuals are very pretty too, as has been mentioned.

The proof will of course come in the finished product but so far, yes, I am very much looking forward to it.

Should we really praise Bioware for doing things that are just about standard in WRPGS nowadays?

The lightning seem to be a bit weird. They have time to improve it. Look good overall. Has for the blood. You guy should look at the mod Enhanced blood in Skyrim :P. That how blood should be.

I loved the Water effect .... But the real question is .... Please Oh please ... If it's rainy outside .. My Character need to get wet.

Bioware is indeed looking pretty good at the moment. Here's what I am currently fangirling over:

Playable races! Looking foward SO MUCH to being an elven mage again.

Vivienne. True, we know nothing about her, but she's written by Mary Kirby so I'm guessing she's going to be amazing.

The return of Morrigan.

Cassandra as a party member.

Well, I have a better feeling about Inquisition now than I had about DA2 shortly before its release, and I'm more jaded now, so I think that's a good sign.

So far, vanilla flavored responses from Bioware. Not unexpected.
But they seem to have upped their game a bit with the combat vid.
But again, they have added things in the past as tid-bits only to remove
them in the final hours.

So I am not putting all my chicken eggs in one basket.
Baby steps, Bioware; Baby steps in the right direction.

Not only do I disagree with your insinuation, your negativity is off-topic and belongs in another complainer thread. You probably just got lost trying to find one. Try this onePosted Image

I AM excited!  I just have a deep seated mistrust of Bioware marketing. :wizard:
