Yes, a fine Crusader platform and good melee.

Hooch's Cabal is a joke.

In a good way; he leaves nothing for anyone else.

I use her as a mook killer with the Valkyrie and Melee. She does great on Gold and below. Plat...well...I wouldn't personally advocate bringing her. Even her powers kind of suck against bosses.

Still, she's got insane mobility and delicious weapon/headshot bonuses. Not to mention some excellent melee capability.

Yes, the blades are a mook / phantom killer. But the high bonus she has to weapon damage allows her to perform well against bosses too.

Poison Strike feels really buggy, and can be a pain to use off-host. Just like other Vanguards.
And since PS is also the main thing she has going for her, I don't really use the kit.
Playing as a soldier-esque weapon build seems like wasted potential, and other kits do it better anyway.

Wouldn't use her unless hosting, or above Gold. I'm sure others can master this kit on Plat, but it was proving quite difficult for me at least.

Poison Strike is not nearly the only thing she has going for her.   A lot of people don't even spec into Poison Strike, and a lot more do, but really only use it for mobility and detonation purposes.  She has great passive bonuses, a great stagger power, and fantastic melee ability.  She's not the best character on the game, but she might be the most fun.

one word: JavelinCabal

just putting it out there.

It's what I use 100% of the time.
It's fun to be able to see absolutely every single enemy and travel through almost everything.
Best mobility and scouting ability in the game.

I actually used JavCabal my last match today. Works like a charm.

Go to rank 4 and take Range.

A 16.8m teleport is way too useful to pass up.

Out of curiosity, what don't you take? I'm guessing fitness.

Personally I'm convinced it is actually superior without poison strike, anything you elect to pass up is more valuable. The mobility and ability to teleport still exists without it, and even in a more reliable way. I might go back to try out poison strike again, I haven't used it since my first build and it is fun, but it then becomes a character that will only be used for solos and won't even perform as relaibly in them.

Yes, absolutely. But I meant it more in the sense that PS is what makes her unique compared to other kits.

4 in PS, 4 in Fitness.

Skipping PS is viable, but IMO, PS is too good to pass up. The regular dodge teleport glitches sometimes, like not being able to teleport through walls unless you're right next to them. PS will get you out of almost any sticky situation, and gives the Cabal even greater mobility than she already has, plus, PS doesn't take up any Barriers, so it won't reset/stop your Barriers from recharging.

All of her powers are unique to her, as is her melee, and her dodge.

Poison Strike isn't the only thing that sets her apart.

This. Power Amp IV makes her ridiculously powerful. Makes cerberus a joke, even on host.

I keep reading that she's a rather bad, or at least not top tier kit, but I just don't see it. When I play Cabal on gold(/glacier/cerberus) I don't really do significantly worse than with commonly accepted "top tier" kits.

Oh no, wait. That is because I never play those kits.

But what's more important, it feels just as badass as playing Drellgod.

Not really. Nighshade Blades are almost the same as Ballistic Blades. Biotic Focus is like Adrenaline Rush without the damage.

Oh, cmon, they both can provide some DR, they both can provide some shields. BF can be spammed more, AR gives you a ton of damage and a free reload. But they are very similar.

Biotic Focus - DR, Speed Boost, Melee Damage

AR - Weapon Damage/Reload

Not seeing it.
