Oh, cmon, they both can provide some DR, they both can provide some shields. BF can be spammed more, AR gives you a ton of damage and a free reload. But they are very similar. 


Biotic Focus - DR, Speed Boost, Melee Damage

AR - Weapon Damage/Reload

Not seeing it. 

 

AR - if you take Hardening - you get 40% DR. If you take melee damage instead of duration you get melee damage, and you get shields too on evo 6. And AR I think also gives a small speed boost when used.

She bugs out on me too much. Every 5th game or so I try to melee through a wall and all my keys stop working. It usually happens if she gets staggered on arrival.

I currently use a poison strike build to make her unique and different. I use disrupter ammo and create my own tech burst while my poison strike kills them in a few seconds.

I had to skip biotic focus as it competed with my poison strike cooldown and the small extra shield were useless to my then no fitness cabal.

True, but you could do well with lots of kits against armor if you take the right weapons. I was more or less talking about her odd powerset. Poison Strike is a PoS, and Nightshade Blades aren't too hot vs. armor. Or at least they'd be much more useful against mooks.

She'd do fine if you were to take her to Plat, but there are better options, if you're looking for a weapons platform, imo.

Got tired of fighting the Collectors from all of the Thunderdome solos although they probably would've been easier for her due to the slower units, Banshees on only 3 waves and no Geth Hunters. I mostly solo Colectors and/or Reapers mostly even though I have solo'd Geth. So yeah mostly to switch up from Collectors.

I use her a lot, I do a lot of vanguarding off host, so she's really the only viable choice. Completely different play style from all other vanguards. I use a very basic, stripped down set up: no poison strike, weapon build with poisonous blades. Simple to use, effective, and reliable. I've never understood poison strike, only used it a couple of times.

Thanks for the answer. I also soloted with her (on white) but choosed Cerberus for an instant kill with acolyte shot + blade on every units except dragoons and, of course, atlases. I finally found this solo easier than the ones I did with the TGI and the geth trooper, while we know the beasts these two kits are.

Never thought to play her with the javelin I'll give that a try later on. Glad to see I was wrong about her not being used maybe I'll bump into someone who uses her occasionally now. Also I've been away a while, what map is the thunderdome?

Also, 75% melee damage bonus from BF. Also, the cooldowns on both powers work very differently. Basically the only things both powers have in common are getting a little shields back and a DR, but those aren't the defining features of either power AFAIC.

If you skip poison strike all you're doing is playing a more limited, cheese-less BatSol. Here's a tip: mobility = DPS. 

IMO six ranks in melee or bust.

Disagree. The heavy melee, not poison strike, is the charge. It does superior damage to charge, sets you up perfectly to use Poison Strike if the target surives, and it'll even give you a 25% weapon damage bonus just like weapon synergy, or a 75% melee damage bonus. Oh, and it staggers most enemies reliably. The lack of range is negated by her speed and poison strike if you spec it for range. Maybe she's not all vanguard, but she's more  vanguard than soldier.

Poison Strike is useless POS not even worth considering.

/400 waves (actually a bit less considering the games i've specced into this misery) and 4 Platinum solos without it.
