Will "Anders" play a role in DA:I?

Considering the plot is pretty much Mages Vs. The Chantry, Anders, if alive, would almost certainly want to take part in it. If he survived I imagine he'll be leading some sort of rebel mage faction that may either help or hinder the Inquisitor based on his/her intentions. Perhaps he'll become DA:Is equivalent of a War Asset (If they're going that route with DA:I that is).
So would someone else take his place as the leader of the mage faction in question? My guess is yes and no. If Anders "dies" in DA:2 then I think it's possible Justice (Or Vengeance now I supposed) would take full control of Anders's body and lead that same faction with more of an iron fist. I think it would be pretty interesting to see how Vengeance/Justice leads that faction compared to how Anders would lead it.
Again, I haven't read any of the books (Haven't picked up a game novel since Deception) or any of the confirmations Bioware has made so I have no idea if either of those contradicts what I've suggested here.

Now there's room for Anders to intersect with that himself. But there's also room for Anders to be busy doing other stuff because this is not entirely about that war. There will be many battles of that which are not present in the game.

There would also be no justice/vengeance without Anders. That Spirit was gone, absorbed into Anders being.

Honestly that's a good point. I might have to replay DA2 and make sure I kill Anders even in my pro-mage playthroughs. I have no desire to see him ever again.

So wouldn't have been dead and gone if "died" in Awakening? I really don't think they ever said that killing Anders would result in the death of Justice/Vengeance, I could be wrong though.

Anders himself says it actually. He says that Justice no longer exists. That Anders absorbed him completely and it ultimately changed Anders personality.

Not rly take anders to the fade and justice will show instead him and surprisingly he sounds more like justice there than vengeance and still shows up in some moments as vengance.Even devs said that if you killed anders he stays dead but justice is different matter. I would like separate them like we did with Connor and demon perhaps even get back old good justice but that only my dreams:devil:.

Unlike Leliana, Anders was a choice that was offered to the player for us to kill him rather than something which was the by-product of another choice.

I believe David has said Anders' death is for reals.franciscoamell wrote...

If you killed him, the only thing he'll be doing in DA3 is decomp.

I can't find an actual quote, but It was something like "Justice no longer exists, he is a spirit of Vengeance now". I don't believe he ever said that he "absorbed justice" either. Anders allowed him to enter his body as a host so they more or less share it. Most of the time Anders was in control, but when he got angry Justice/vengeance was able to take hold.
I really don't think he's "gone" in the sense you're thinking.

Anders and Justice are two different beings. If you killed Anders in DA:2 that doesn't necessarily mean that Justice will die as well.
If you ask Justice what he though would happen to him when he "dies" in Kristoffs body he won't know. I don't think Anders has anymore knowledge than a fade spirit in this subject, so even if Anders did in fact say that Justice would die as well I'm not sure I actually believe him.

I'd love to run into rebel Anders (and possibly Hawke *fingers crossed*) as the Inquisitor. I'd give my firstborn if Anders ended up being one of those "agents" the dev diary mentioned, buuuut... probably not gonna happen. Oh well.
Also, since loads of people apparently(?) killed him I don't know how big a role he even can have in DA:I without screwing over people who murderknifed him.
[also: the "dev canon" (ie. "no DA:O/DA2 import" option) says that Hawke was a mage who sided with the Mages... wonder if Anders is alive or dead in this DA:I "NG vanilla" -option]

But cameo will work. I never kill off any companions, so that they could appear in next installment of a series. I'm a bad role-player.

I'm pretty sure I've heard somewhere that when host is killed, spirit goes back to the Fade.
